going back to Iraq--one soldier called it a "higher calling"

An interview on Msnbc now--reporter is interviewing a soldier who asked to return to Iraq. Said he was protecting those --children, others families--here at home. Also helping the Iraqi--who have "nothing"

1. I think the poor soul is brainwashed. He must still think Iraq had
something to do with 9/11

6. Where do they find these moronic soldiers to be interviewed on
tv, they never ask the ones that feel this is a wrong invasion of another country...and I know there are plenty of them..this is what happens when we have a corporate owned media, no different than a state owned media..please, please tell me this is going to stop.

2. Protecting them from Iraqis?
If anything, he's making them want to attack us more in about 20 years.

There is obviously a real humanitarian cause in Iraq and a lot of the soldiers mean well. Being on the ground, I think a lot of soldiers do see that the ultimate objective is to bring the peace. It's not their fault their leadership sucks.

It's just a shame that they have been led to believe they are "defending" America by attacking some sandbox in the middle of nowhere. There was no threat posed by Saddam's regime... except swtiching to the Euro.

3. BushInc has the officers convince the soldiers they're battling Satan.
You really think they have the soldiers reading LEFT BEHIND books for harmless diversion?

5. Can they really be so blind as to believe
that anything they do in Iraq is being done to protect those at home?

Helping the Iraqis who have nothing?!?!?! I was willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt until he said this. The guy is a freaking idiot. Hey moron, they have nothing because our military has laid waste to their country. They have nothing because we supported 10 years of sanctions. They have nothing because you guys keep dropping big fucking bombs on them. They have nothing because you have taken the little that they did have away from them.

7. You'd be surprised.
A lot of people believe that Bush stood up for our country. Which he didn't do.

I think that getting Al Queada should have been the top priority from day 1 after 9/11. I would consider that standing up for the country.

8. How is he protecting us here at home?
Checking more of the incoming cargo would protect us more here. More money for ETS and fire and police departments would help us here.

But going over to Iraq to kill Iraqis, bomb their homes, turn the place to more rubble.....that isn't helping anyone that I can see.

Oh except Halliburton.

9. the local news station in oklahoma did a piece on a soldier
that just got killed last week. man it was really sad, the guy's brother was crying and saying the soldier didn't want to go to iraq, because he felt something bad was going to happen. but that if he didn't go somebody else was going get killed in his place, and that he couldn't live with that.

My hat is off to that soldier, true American.
