Randi: "Bush as popular in Canada as Kobe Bryant at a N.O.W. Convention"
She's claiming that Bush met with Prime Minister Martin for one reason and one reason only (NOT to thank ANYONE for 9/11 "hospitality"):

To get Canada to sink billions of dollars into Bush's proposed missile defense shield program.

Bush and Martin met previously and Martin gave him an emphatic "NO."

Bush took Martin by surprise during the current visit and blindsided him by bringing it up in public.

Martin, according to Randi, was furious.

2. Kobe Bryant has not been convicted of anything
His actions were adulterous but nothing else has been proven.

3. Oh how I wish
That Paul Martin would tell Bush no to missile defense....buuuuut, up here, we are not even allowed public dialogue on the matter. Martin will cave - I cannot see him telling Bush, "NO!"

Steven Harper, however (the opposition leader) would bend over backwards, kiss Bush a$$, and plead for him to put US missiles onto Canadian soil.

We have a minority government right now...not sure how long it can function without a vote of nonconfidence. And I DREAD Harper as PM. My only hope is that Layton will be able to foster a meaningful working relationship with Martin.....
