How many "fronts" are there in this battle? |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 12:26 PM by ewagner
My head is spinning trying to count all the different "fronts" the battle for the '04 election is involved in. As near as I can tell there are these:
Recounts in Ohio Law Suits and possible recounts in Florida Recounts in NV? Recounts in WA state. Sample recounts in NH (over?)
In addition to the "fronts" here, there are the things that Bush* and company are doing that need to be addressed also:
Alberto Gonzales appointment Condi's appointment Run up for a war with Iraq Decimation of the CIA Mandatory mental health testing (and possible mandatory drugging) Assault on Reproductive rights
on edit:This thought was raised by Will Pitt's post on Total Opposition my mind is spinning...can you think of others?
And a question, How the hell do we fight all this at one time?

1. The only way to fight it at one time is to start getting |
|
people elected in ALL levels of government.
People around here have their heads in the clouds over some superstar 2008 election, but we'll be in no position to do anything if we don't get people with brains and common sense into government NOW.
(Sorry to vent; it gets to me sometimes.)

We need to be a lot less emotional about things and a hell of a lot smarter...cold-blooded even...in order to stop the conservatives from taking total and irrevocable control.

|
Why are democrats letting Republicans count the votes?
Great article on the DU's front page today by Ernest Partridge about this.

Election fronts also include:
NY state senate race (odd differences between recount and machine count)
Other fronts not to forget:
Plame Edmons Energy task force secrecy (still alive) 9/11 Commission second report CIA stifled report Abu Ghraib (second round of abuses public didn't see) 700 million unauthorized money transfer (probably dead but shouldn't be) Chalabi/Iran secrets Halliburton investigation Getting the word out about the environment

No wonder we have outrage fatigue... they just keep creating more reality. Sooner or later all this reality they're creating is really going to screw this country over.

10. the main front is the one no one is talking about . . . |
|
and that's restoring citizen authority over corporations . . . I've done some rather extensive posting on this issue in the past, but it never seems to take hold . . . so I'll try one more time by referring to a couple of those threads (rather than re-posting everything here) . . . please take the time to look them over, because this is where the real battle lies . . . and until we engage it, nothing will change . . . Ending Corporate Governancehttp://www.democraticunderground.com/cgi-bin/duforum/duboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=22649&forum=DCForumID60&archive=Ending Corporate Governance, Part 2http://www.democraticunderground.com/cgi-bin/duforum/duboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=1615&forum=DCForumID27&archive=
