Quit/Resign, I'm not sure I understand the way this wprks.

It seems like everybody is resigning!

I thought that so many people were in love with Bush. Yes/ No?

IMO Colin was asked to resign. That almighty lap dog would have stayed until ice skating was allowed in hell.

But they just keep rolling along... Tenet,Ridge and on and on.They all say it is for family reasons. Do they expect me to believe that lie?

Who did I forget?

Ashcroft?

Everyday I pick up the paper and they are bailing out on the Chimp.

Do they have a dirty little secret or something?

I would like them all to take a looong vacation in the Netherlands at the Hague.

1. Rats from the sinking ship of state. . .
. . . by putting distance between the fearless and clueless leader, these people believe they will not be dragged under when the Bushtanic begins to break apart. Well, all of the political passengers and crew members who were on that ride are going down with the captain.

2. A shakeout at this point is normal.
What I don't know is if the number leaving is in any way extraordinary. Clinton had a bunch leave at this point.

It's a hot time to use insider knowledge to rake in big corporate bucks.
Before the admin is lameduck and useless.

Still, does feel like a LOT, doesn't it?

5. It's more the way they are leaving not just the number

These people have kissed his ass since day one and click click they are gone with the wind.

It's not just the true neocons, don't forget Rather and Browkow.

Even Mfume, who is not in their courner, said bye bye to the NAACP.

I think people are just thinking as most of us - "This Bush mess is not to be believed and I just want a vacation to Canada."

7. Clinton had 7 leave
Edited on Fri Dec-03-04 12:21 AM by Husb2Sparkly
It now appears Chimpus Khan is on a tear to go way higher than that. I had felt until very recently that this turnover was normal ... now I am not so sure. This could be a record before it is over.

<spelling edit>

3. Not unusual for the cabinet to change in the 2nd term
when a president doesn't need to worry about getting reelected and can carry forth with their agenda.
Clinton had ten cabinet posts change after his second election.

15. This one just has a different feel to it

I can't explain it.

Even the MSM doesn't gush over it they are just glossing over it.

4. It's the consistent type of replacements that astonish me
They are even more tight-knit with the BFEE than before -- more likely to say what they want to hear rather than to advise truthfully. It might seem in a second term they'd like to get things right for a change, and be less concerned about political longevity. Instead it seems they need people who will not speak the truth, particularly outside their inner circle.

I'm sure there's always a level of loyalty and secrecy, but this is really over the top. I keep wondering what they're so worried about covering up.

8. Yea but if they wanted to keep the cover on stuff

wouldn't they want to keep all their same people?

That way they would all have to be sheeple.

This way it's book writing, talk show going free flow with the words.

I think someone is going to start spilling the beans.

9. That's a point, too.
It's certainly not as if they were replacing them with more competent people!! Very strange.

Where are the stars among the replacements?

Bush is stupid and now we have a cabinet made up of Dumb and Dumber.

10. Terminal boredom?
The President is "like a blind man in a roomful of deaf people. There is no discernible connection," forcing top officials to act "on little more than hunches about what the president might think." Paul O'Neil.

How satisfying could that be?

11. Because Bushco plans to upend EVERYTHING
and needs hardass sycophants to ram the stuff through. If there's anything we know about today's Republicans, it's that they work fast and approach every opportunity as if it were their last. That go-for-broke do-it-NOW attitude is a big reason for their current political dominance.

13. Something tells me they are not up to the tasks ahead

If it wasn't so painful being an American, I would love to see this sideshow.

Cheney is heartless.
Rumsfeld has prison abuse law suits to face.
Condi is going to be globe hopping
and
Poppy will be running the government like he has always done.

17. Initially I thought this was just "business as usual" in a second term,
but clearly this exceeds the norm. The fact that there are so many and all at once tells me that he has some type of method to his madness.

Maybe he wants an entirely new team with fresh energy. Kind of like how Coach Bear Bryant used the "platoon system" in football. Sub with an entirely fresh set of 11 players.

That leaves a lot of former cabinet members out there flooding the market with "tell all" books.

I really don't unerstand why he would clean house because he didn't make any decisions the first four years.

So, looks like Cheney is cleaning house.
Probably Lynn and Condi are helping out,,,the queeens of means
