WHAT was up with Tommy Thompson?
Okay I've heard about the Thompson resignation about 5 times today on the radio's news updates. One thing that they keeps saying is that Thompson couldn't understand why Terrorist haven't attacked the Food supply (our food supply)

Is this a foreshadow of the next "attack" or is he so dumb that he is giving the terrorist a heads up on what to do next.

Did anyone else find it odd?

and that they're oblivious and will remain oblivious to obvious vulnerabilies just so long as we don't tell them.

they figured out how to pull off 9/11 without our telling them, they can figure out the next big attack without tommy's help. (this argument holds even if you believe in lihop/mihop; that just changes who "they" are.)

3. It was incredibly
irresponsible, but terrorists don't need to do a thing to the food supply now.

Every upset tummy anyone gets from here on out will be blamed on Al Qaeda.

Even if it's poor cooking, an overdose of pesticide or the use of diseased animals at fault.

7. Nah...food supply is safe. Terrorists are going to attack airlines with
tweezers and those little scissors that are on the Swiss Army knives. Or, perhaps they will attack with "eyelash curlers." All those items being confiscated from airline travellers.

My hubby was patted down and his "nail scissors" were confiscated. He looks Irish American had a Jacket and tie on and they got him for that. Last time it was his "Swiss Army knife" and a friend of mine had her "eyelash curler" confiscated, after they asked her to remove her shoes so they could see if the heels concealed a weapon.

Is there some Giant Government Auction where this stuff is being unloaded somewhere? It's really disgusting what folks are being put through and Thompson says "Beware the Food Supply."

10. If you live or have lived in Wisconsin, nothing Tommy says surprises you.
He is a moron of the highest(or lowest depending on how you look at it) order.

11. He's covering his butt by pointing at another department's failings
In the dysfunctional Bush Administration no cabinet secretary is allowed to do his job, thanks to a meddling White House.

As a result, the gubmint is in far worse shape than we can know.

But it'd be the height of disloyalty for a retiring cabinet secretary to gripe about that fact, and disloyalty is viciously punished by Karl Rove. So Thompson took what may have looked like a safer route and complained about something outside his purview, unaware that his revelations are so shocking. To him they seem mild compared to the truly electrifying horrors of which he has firsthand knowledge and extreme fear of revealing.
