1. I haven't seen any opinion polls |

but I have relatives and friends in SF, and they're all pretty happy with him. Granted, they don't speak for the whole city, but I know San Francisco, and I think that they probably like him a lot.

He's been a mixed bag. His gay marriage stunt(?) has been controversial, even among liberals and gays, mainly because of the timing, but I think most people realize it would be unfair to blame the election loss(?) on that. He's been widely criticized here as a puppet of moneyed Pacific Heights interests, but he has also showed initiative in making reforms to the homeless program here and trying to tackle aggressive panhandling, and he also sided with the workers in our local hotel strike.
I'm not ready to pass judgment on him one way or the other yet.

(sorry. I'm in smart-ass mode tonight. No offense) Haven't heard much from him, either. His hair is still mind-bogglingly shellacked-on looking... He ran on a plan of rousting the homeless, we'll see what happens with that. I actually supported Matt Gonzales during that election, but I do think GN was a truly stand-up dude on the subject of Gay Marriage. Even if Mr. and Mrs. Middle Merka weren't ready for it.
