Is Reid a paid operative for the GOP?
Anybody watching Meet The Press this morning? Reid sounds like a mole for the GOP as the Democratic Minority Leader. Geesh, against abortion, thinks Frist "Is one of the finest gentlemen he has ever met," could he be anymore pandering? Guess we can forget any possibility that the Dem Senators and Representatives are ready to fight for the principles of the Democratic party for the next four years.

Why on earth was this guy elected as Leader and what am I missing?

1. He's fought like crazy for veterans
over the years - I don't think he is nearly as mild mannered as he came across on Meeet the Press - but even when you hear him speak on the floor - his words can be scathing - but he still appears mild-mannered. Just don't know.

2. Hope you are right.
He just totally demoralized me watching him this morning. Couldn't find one single thing he said approaching the idea he was ready for a fight. I want a guy who won't give one damn inch on any issue. I really don't care if we suffer gridlock for the next two years. It can only work in our favor plus the less we give on issues now the less we will have go go back and repair later. When you are in a hole and can't get out, the first thing you do is stop digging. We have been too accommodating for too long and look where we are now. It just isn't working.

Let the repugs go ahead and force their agenda on us if they must but I want to go down kicking and screaming. Want to see the repugs have to answer for each and every dumb thing they do without being able to say, "Well, So and So Mr/Ms Democrat voted for it, too." Can you tell I'm bloodthirsty? And tired? And pissed off? And fed up?

the fat cats on Wall Street; accused him of endangering the country by not supporting the 911 bill. Has a 'War Room' for rapid response.

That's not pandering

No private accounts of any king -- (social security).

Thats all red meat Democratic stuff. Give him a break.

Just said Barbara Boxer is closes 'I've ever had to a sister.'

Let's support Reid!

4. Dems Knee-Jerk Reaction
This is indicative of RoveCo's smoke and mirrors acconmplishments. The Senate Dems are trying to move the party more centrist, and less 'librul'. See, they think that the American Public voted for the rapture wing.

They did not. Those that voted for Bush voted for his 'resolve'. And, the sooner we can field candidates that exemplify resolve, as did Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, and Clinton, the sooner we will regain the Presidency.

The American People want to take care of their own- either through the Department of HHS, or through military strength. We need a candidate that is strong on social policy and strong on his desire to protect Americanism. Then we will win the Presidency.

6. Can't someone be cordial and still defend
Democratic values? I don't see anything wrong with that. That's how things were before Newt poisoned the well.

7. I will vouch that we will be sold down the river by Reid just like
Daschle did. In the Senate Reid was the 2nd highest democrat behind Daschle, yet no explanation as to why, if he is different, he never influenced the disastrous path the democrats too in most policy debates in the Senate?

8. Look at his record for Nevada
He overwhelming beat the RW candidate, his campaign was "Vote Reid Indpendent like Nevada" Give him a chance. He is stronger than he seems, he is also willing to go to rural counties.
