Rove has made habit out of framing others for "crimes"
Such as the fake bug in his office.

Such as the allegation that the Kerry campaign faked Bush's service record documents.

His theory: this accusation of criminal wrong-doing completely destroys the other side's credibility.

What if...someone is doing the same to Rove now re election fraud? Wouldn't it destroy the GOP worse than Watergate if it is proven? Now if you win the election you can't really go after the other side for fraud. But if you lose...

2. Actually, I'm afraid that may be happening....
The business of the FBI reportedly investigating voter fraud has a Rovian scent to it. The story is discussed here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1047294

The Administration runs all branches of this "democratic" goverment, so don't expect the FBI to be breaking any Republican vote scandals.

If the Bush cartel thinks that the major media may be starting to pick up some interest in the vote fraud story at last, they'll do what they can to make the story radioactive, just as Rathergate silenced the Bush II military service disgrace.

To silence the story about the theft of the election, what better than more screaming about those sneaky un-moral Democrats? Remember how they screamed just before the election about the few Democrat-side vote fraud stories, like where single operators registered more than once? Meanwhile, thousands of Democratic voter registrations were being trashed silently.

Oh yeah, this "FBI investigating vote fraud" story has the Rovian stink all right.

7. You got it backwards.
Rove would eliminate the fraud story by pushing a 'Republicans commit fraud' story, getting it a lot of press, then disproving it so that ALL subsequent fraud stories can be discounted.

It worked with Rather and the Bush records -- the Boston Globe story, independently researched and released at the same time, was ignored because Rathergate 'proved' there was no story.

9. You're right, but...
...though it's true that the by-the-book Rove technique would be to plant a false story of Repub fraud that would then self-destruct along with legitimate Repub fraud stories, it would be damaging to stir a big frenzy about a Democratic fraud. Not really Rove's style, true, but it would hurt. I just can't see these guys sitting back quietly if the MSM start sniffing around the election fraud story.

3. He also stole Ann Richards letter head and made up phony
campaign fliers. Something about free booze when she was having a campaign rally at a college. It was when * was running for gov. against her.

5. That "trick" was against an Illinois Democrat named Alan Dixon in 1970,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove

Rove started a "whisper campaign" against Ann Richards that implied she is a lesbian.

4. Oh, yeah, and lets not forget the "debate tape" delivered to
Gore's campaign in 2000. It was never proved that Rove was behind it..but we all know he was.

wouldn't we be wise to just put out the stuff on ROVE? This guy is filthy.

What is there was just a concerted effort to put out all the stuff this is a matter of public record on this guy?

It would be like bowling . . .

10. I'm afraid he will turn the fraud issue back on us --- manufacture...
and/or highlight election "irregularity" on our side. If the issue goes big-time, he could make sure we are seen as the guilty party, or, at the least, that guilt is shared.
