Latest RNC spin: Bush has a 90% approval rating!
Just heard this on CNN. An interviewee stated that Bush can push through some of his initiatives because he has a 90% approval rating. They guy added, a bit beneath his breath "within his own party."

So, America loves Bush because most REPUBLICANS approve of him?

The interviewer didn't even comment on that statement. I cannot believe that. A totally LAUGHABLE comment, not even remarked on.

Is this what we are becoming? Do our so called journalists have ANY credibility at ALL anymore?

7. When the media doesn't challenge such claims...
Then the media won't challenge such claims, those claims can only grow more and more outrageous, and only become more and more self-serving.

3. You know,
I would find that highly amusing if I didn't think that most Americans would not swallow that hook, line and sinker without giving the implications a second thought.

8. That's how bad it's gotten.
The Bush camp is watching how much support they still have WITHIN THEIR OWN PARTY!

Yet all seems rosey and fine if you only thinly listen to the talking heads.

12. I think there are far more.
Bush supporting R's are quite vocal, but there is a quite undercurrent of very disturbed old-world republicans. I suspect they stay quiet because they think they are all alone. And as long as they don't speak out, the R's appear unified.

15. I remember when I use to wonder who took the poll...
Now I wonder if they actually took a poll. Everything I read now I wonder if it is true, where is the spin, how can I tell or who is causing this situation to happen. For example, the food for oil, what is that really? It is LIHOP, MIHOP, a real situation? And bush visits Canada, gets the finger and the next week you hear about all these goofy things going on up there. France runs exercises to check their security and they forget to remove the bomb material. A few years ago I would have been aghast at that, now I'm thinking, "well at least they are working on things" and "isn't it nice that the media reports what happened". It is like someone is taking my brain and gradually twisting it like one would twist the water out of a wet towel.

16. I believe it. We have a lot of people in this country that like what---
he is doing. They just love this bombing and killing. If you do not believe me, read Free Republic and Military.com.The discussion board. You know people used to go and watch them burn people also. And heads used to stay up on London Bridge for weeks. So we seem to be right back in the Middle Ages but we now have planes.Ever read that Stanford study on guards and jails? We seem to be born killers, some more than others.

14. What I heard is even more amazing
In 2008 he will win with 100% of the votes. I think he learned this from Saddam,he's been taking notes with him in custody.

There WAS a reason for invading Iraq afterall.

18. the most recent on polling report from newsweek has *'s
approval rating at 49%. This is a Newsweek poll from early December. The approval rating from a poll from mid-November (not a Newsweek poll) had * approval rating at 55%. So it looks like it is going down quickly>

20. As Bush uses this approval rating among republicans to push
his policies of death and destruction the democrats need to start asking whether Bush considers himself to be the president of 285 million Americans or just 59 million republicans. I would like to see this question asked publicly millions of times between now and the 2006 elections.

22. Saddam Hussein had a VERY high approval rating, too!
90-100%! Imagine that!

bush will NEVER have a 90% approval rating. That happened once and I wasn't in that number even then.

His true approval rating is dismal. Even among repukes I doubt it's 90%. What a fucking liar.

Different day, new lie.
