What the Iowa results really mean: There is ENERGY in the Dem party! |
|
These primaries are going to energize more voters than ever before and it will mean the defeat of the Republicans in 2004. It only matters that all voices are out in force. If Dean had won Iowa, the primaries would have staggnated and turned a lot of Dem voters home to their TV sets. Now we have some interest! Now we have some energy! Now the pundits have been stumped and made null and void! They can't call anything! Rush is done...Hannity is done! The grassroots will get out and fight harder! The unions will be more energized in the other states! They will get out to support Edwards and Dean! It's a shoot out! I LOVE IT!!!!

Have been laughing all night about how wrong the pundits have been for so long. The turnout was great, and a real fore-shawdowing of November 2004.
I have been so frustrated for so long, listening to these news program, knowing how wrong they were, but other voices could not speak. Well tonight was the night for Dems to speak and they spoke volumes!!!!!!

10. Excuse, me but Dean was the one who was attacked: by press, by the WH, |
|
by the other candidates, and by a lot of DUers. I support Kucinich but I think a lot of what is being said about Dean is very unfair and some is untrue.
Dean has done more to give the other candidates some spine than anyone else...even if it was all aimed at him. Maybe they can get their stuff together and get enough spine to really challenge Bush. I am beginning to hear it more clearly now.
All the best to all the candidates!

2. Yes! What we need is energy based on outrage. |
|
I think that's what happened in Iowa tonight. Dean seemed to be the candidate who appealed to that mentality, but in fact he alienated people with his shrill attacks on other candidates. People want to WIN and BEAT THE *. They don't want someone who attacks other Dems, especially with no provication. Getting * out is all important now.

3. I think the dems have a history of laying low when it seems they shouldn't |
|
but when dems fight back, they win! However these primaries turn out, I will still be proud to be a democrat first. The energy really kicks ass.

6. Having four viable candidates has been great |
|
It has really opened up debate and banter. Almost like a multiparty system.

9. The [near?] record turnout bodes well |
|
I take it to mean that Dems are very concerned about what's going on and will be out in full force in November.
