Why Should Dean supporters be asked "who are they supporting?" |
|
I didn't know, and never claimed, that IA was the be-all and end all of the primary season.
Someone want to clue me in on the new news, because I missed that memo?

14. On both sides, though |

Edited on Mon Jan-19-04 10:24 PM by jpgray
One candidate supporter might say "This is a vote towards insider DLC interests, and I may consider voting elsewhere", but then another might say "Since candidate X is totally dead, who is your second choice?", and then another might say "See, I told you candidate Y's supporters wouldn't go ABB!"
And the nonsense just continues and continues. :(

3. Dean came in 3rd, Gephardt 4th |
|
Gephardt's getting out tomorrow, so I guess they think Dean will fold too. LOL They don't know much about us Deaniacs. I say "Bring it on". Dean and we will recover and come back stronger - not to worry.

5. The answer to the question is obvious: Dean! |
|
This is one small battle, and there's a long road ahead yet. I wish my guy had the resources available to him that the Dean campaign does. Cheer up, guys--- it ain't overt 'til it's over! :hi:

6. Hey, it was another Dean supporter (Don) that started a poll |
|
asking who y'all would support now.
I put it on ignore, as I have will all the other negative Dean threads, and as I'll do with this thread.
Don't ignore the nice threads, see only the jerky threads, and lash out at everyone.

Why was my thread a negative one? Why was it a jerky thread? You clearly didn't read the thing if that's what you think.

27. Poll question: Poll for Dean Supporters: Who is your #2? |
|
Explain the "jerky" part of this. Explain how it's a negative Dean thread. You've insulted me, and I'm calling you on it. Explain yourself.
From the poll: No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way. But tonight does give me pause and make me think about all of the what if's. So, if Howard Dean doesn't happen to get the nomination, who is your #2 choice?
Did you notice the FIRST SENTENCE IN THE POST? Allow me to reprint it for you:
No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way. No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way. No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way. No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way. No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way. No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way. No, I'm not giving up, not by a long way.

9. I'm still backing Dean and it's not over |
|
Folks this is the first primary. Many front runners stumble along the way and many eventual Democratic nominee winners don't their first contest. Dean isn't throwing in the towel and neither are his supporters. I still stand with my candidate - Howard Dean.
I congratulate Kerry's campaign and supporters and now it's on to NH.

Take it as a compliment.
Gephardt was the one that lost tonight.
The upcoming Battle Royale between Kerry and Clark in New Hampshire will not cost Dean one percentage point, Keph! You heard it from me.

Kerry's momentum will bury him in NH.

|
I'm not sure what you're referring to, but if you happen to be talking about the poll I started, I was pretty clear that I wasn't conceding anything, but that on a night like tonight it was inevitable that Dean supporters would be pondering the what-if questions, ergo, the poll.

28. kef, I just posted in the thread that asks for second choices... |
|
...that Iowa is instructive but not necessarily predictive.
Iowa's results may show which candidates DNC party insiders support, and, while that's important for Dean to know, it's not an omen. Not by a long shot.

29. Because people always blow things way out of proportion here |
|
and it happens on all sides- Kerry's people were down in the dumps when he fired his campaign staff- game over. Dean people thought the nomination was theirs based on meaningless polls and the Gore endorsement. Game over. Clark people think that Dean is dead and their guy is annointed based on causcuses that actually strengthen his toughest demograpphic rivals.... ect.
Cooler heads know that the game has only just begun and this is but the opening move. Moreover, if there's one thing Dean and Trippi have proven over the course of the last year is that they learn from their mistakes and readily adapt to changing circumstances. This is just one more such instance.
