7. I love Joe, but "staggering defeat of the Democratic Party"?
Does he believe in Bush's "mandate?"

8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
no way. I thank him for everything he did for Dean's campaign. But there is a lot he did not do and I don't think he is good under pressure. He fell apart when the going got rough and he didn't know how to take the campaign to the next level when the dirty tricks and party manipulation began. No way can he stand up to the DLC and entrenched party whores.

11. Sounds like he learned a valuable lesson though ?
So far, he's better than anyone out there, and doesn't appear to want to move to the right.

15. I agree 100%
People who worry about Dean being mentally unbalanced would kill themselves if Trippi became the chair. Smart guy, great adviser, but my impression is that he is not the guy you want making the decisions in a clutch situation.

21. I agree
He left Dean for dead in Iowa and wouldn't leave New Hampshire because he thought there would be a coup and he'd lose his job...that showed to me he thought of himself over Dean's campaign. That and spending $39 Million in Iowa... not exactly great management style. Oh wait, he worked on the Mondale campaign!

9. I like that idea. Sounds better than Dean.
It's not like Dean personally came up with the grassroots model or internet organizing ideas for his campaign. Trippi also made it pretty clear he wasn't making the money decisions in the Dean campaign. He sounds like a real liberal too, which I think we need.

13. hell no
The Dean folks should be the first to reject this. People I know high up in the Dean campaign talk about large amounts of money unaccounted for. Joe Trippi's priority is always Joe Trippi.

17. HELL no!
This man was principle in the crash and burn of Dr. Dean.
He has passion and innovation but lacks in reality and winning strategy.

18. After Trippi defends why he didn't return Dean's phone calls in Iowa...
Frankly, I'm not that impressed with him. The campaign he ran for Dean was nothing short of a hyped-up disaster.

19. So was the Kerry Campaign.....
...a hyped up disaster, am I right? Who else would you (generic) want running the DNC the next 4 years? It will be another disaster if they choose another Republican Lite.

22. Good question...does he want the gig :)
I guess I just don't want someone running our party that's never run a real campaign before. I can hope.
