Poll question: Favorite General Turned President |
I can only find three Generals who were elected President without holding prior public office. Which is your favorite? I'm not including those who had gotten elected in politics before becoming President like Washington, Jackson and others. Let me know if I'm missing someone. I don't believe any of them were known for getting much done as President.

4. Eisenhower was a good President |
He institutionalized the new deal, built the interstate highway system, ended the Korean War and warned everyone about the military industrial complex. Dems in Congress got along with him better than Republicans.

6. He also had this great skill |
He could excercise power and make deals without anyone ever realizing it was going on. People used to make fun of him always being on the golfcourse but they never realized that when he was there he was being followed by a mess of senators, representatives, etc and was making deals while relaxing.
