Did anyone watch Hannity and Colmes tonight?
I only ask cuz of this freeper thread.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1297427/posts

The freeptard was so happy that Hannity kept bringing up the fact that seperation of church and state is not in the Constitution, and that Hannity was beating the crap out of the progressive on this point.

WELL IT WAS THOMAS JEFFERSON THAT COINED THE PHRASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about the Treaty of Tripoli?

What I want to know is this: DID THE GUY ARGUING WITH HANNITY BRING ANY OF THIS UP?????? I would not be surprised if the progressive failied to bring up these salient points.

Why are there so many fucking spineless weak pathetic so-called 'progressives'. Where the fuck do they all come from?

1. The Treaty of Tripoli is not a well known document.
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 10:36 PM by Redleg
And it's hardly definitive regarding the issue of separation of church and state.

Why even argue with Hannity- just smash his lying fucking mouth.

2. Why?
Why in the world would anybody watch that crap? I'm not helping Fox's ratings and I'm sure not going to watch a debate between a Republican and a Republican Lite.

Thats not a debate. And Hannity is SUCH a waste of space.

So as you can see I didn't catch it. :)

3. I tuned in yesterday because I thought I saw Sheila Jackson Lee.
and wanted to hear more from her. Then it switched to Colmes and I noticed right away that he didn't look good. He's very gaunt. Not that he was much of an attack dog before, certainly not to match Hannity's fervor, but I wondered if Colmes is a bit slow on the draw due to illness?

4. "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." It's right there in the first amendment, it's just worded differently. Hannity is such a goddamn asshole.

"The United States is in no way founded on the Christian religion." - George Washington.

6. court cases are also primary law in this country.
What has the conservative's panties tied in a wad is that the Liberal judges of the 60s gave powerful interpretations that they have to honor because of stare decisis. The term "separation of church and state" will come up in their legal opinions. The term will probably be found in court cases. But I don't know why this is even a point to argue, because the conservatives have crapped on the constitution in their quest for the Holy Grail. They're no longer Americans.

8. "Hannity is such a goddamn asshole."
I say we start a campaign to make this a constitutional amendment. It's no better or worse than any of the other proposed amendments.

5. I want to know if the guy arguing against him brought it up?
It's so typical to see people on our side just flat out fail to bring up basic facts.

I've often wondered why, and who those spineless fucks are, and why they are on 'my side'. It sickens me to see some of these spineless moron who can't debate represent my beliefs in such a miserable way to millions of Americans.

Its like FFFFUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. It's Fox
They choose who comes on from the other side. Sometimes they'll have a Bernie Sanders, or a Thomas Frank on, but most of the time it's an unknown pundit, and usually it's a pundit from the center labeled as a crazy leftist. It's all just part of the game.

It's not just Fox obviously. All of these cable shows do the same thing. Fox commentators are just far better at shouting them down.

The Corporate Media Monster needs to be stopped.

ARTICLE 11.

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

for discussions with conservative christians, you might want to find a more 'neutral' webpage for the quote.

2805455, Yes, international treaties supercede U.S. law.
