I just viewed "so sorry" again.....
...and it struck me just as hard as when I looked at it for the first time 6 weeks ago. The website is mystolennation.com, featuring shots of people holding up signs apologizing for the '00 and '04 rigged elections. Turn up the sound 'cause REM sings "everybody hurts" to the pics. Call me a bleeding heart, but I cried both times I watched this. Not because our democracy let us down or that Bush has some kind of hypnotic effect on the 51% of the morons in this country, but the fact that so many other nations feel our pain as well. There are signs from Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Turkey, Finland and on and on. Germany really impressed me with the many, many signs they sent in, all inviting us to move in with them, pizza and beer included. Higher unemployment than the good ole' US though.

Anyway, just wanted to say that this fight is not over, by a long shot. Keith still reports daily, on the Ohio recount.

1. yeah....
there's also http://www.apologiesaccepted.com/index.html

Even before that one (and the "so sorry") site, my home country offered this .... www.marryanamerican.ca.

And, if you happen to gay, and want to c'mon up, It won't matter! Gay marriage is ok in most provinces right now, and as of today's supreme court ruling, it'll probably be enshrined in NATIONAL law before christmas.

Cheers.

and thanks for the offer to re-locate, but I'm stuck here.....I love to see my grandchildren too much. Boy, 3 and girl, 1. There were many offers from other nations on "sosorry" too. It was heart warming. Take care.

3. I'm a bleeding heart too
I cry almost every time I look at sorryeverybody.com but I hadn't seen the montage with "Everybody Hurts". Yeah, cried again.

The thing that is getting to me most is looking in the eyes of all the young people on the site who worked so hard and this is what they get. The young men and women whose signs read "I did my best" coupled with "I guess it wasn't good enough" is so heartwrenching to me.

They believed what we (speaking for myself as one of the supposed "grownups") told them - "every vote matters" - "one vote can make a difference" - "if you really try, you can make a difference". But then they learned that's basically all lies when the people with power and money own, buy and rig the system.

"Will they ever trust us again?" Why should they?

4. No one should trust us again,
but there are a lot of other bleeding heart liberals out there in this world who believe that freedom and democracy belong to everyone, not just a chosen few. Bush and his power/money hungry goons make me so sick to my stomach. I, too, wish I could have done more, but I watch my 2 grandkids everyday, one of them also at night while my daughter goes to college. I really scare myself sometimes at how depressed I get over the fact that 51% of "supposed" freedom loving Americans have no idea what's in store for the next 4 yrs.
