Tonight was a huge victory for Edwards
His campaign seemed to be on the ropes about two weeks ago, and tonight he finished a pretty close second to Kerry, and comfortably ahead of both Dean and Gephardt in liberal Iowa. We've all known John Kerry for quite some time, but Edwards is definately the new kid on the block.
Iowa has sent a message to all Democrats that Edwards is a very viable candidate. This will garner him a ton of positive press leading up to the New Hampshire contest. If he can parlay that into a good showing in the NH Primary, then the battle moves south and west, where he can expect at least one first place finish. It will be very interesting to watch Edwards' poll numbers for the next week, especially vs. Kerry and Clark. Even a third place finish in NH would put him in a pretty good position.

2. What a great day for John Edwards supporters, of which I am
indeed a supporter. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was hoping and praying for a 3rd or 4th place for Senator Edwards, so he would have more national recognition. Wow, 2nd place....what a wonderful day! Congratulations to John Kerry and all his supporters for his marvelous 1st place win in Iowa.

3. In the primaries or the general?
Just curious. I like Edwards, too, but I'm sure as heck going to vote for the Democratic nominee.
