"What kind of person catches a criminal red handed and lets him go?"
A: "Republicans?"

From the hysterical Christmas movie "The Ref" starring Dennis Leary, Kevin Spacy & Judy Davis

1. I have a question about Leary.
Does anyone know his viewpoints? I watched last season of Rescue Me, and besides the sometimes anti-gay remarks, I couldn't tell if he is a rethug or not.
It's not like it matters, I was just wondering. I know he has done a lot for the FDNY.

5. Basically an asshole
But I think he's still also a dem. He's a Bostonian, and a hockey player and a goon. Not the brightest bulb on the tree, but I am not sure how much of his attitude is schtick. This movie, "The Ref," is pretty damned funny, though.

Kevin Spacey never talks about it because he plays the same character as he does in American Beauty, a pissed off husband with an overbearing wife. In fact, there is not one sympathetic character in The Ref. Every single character is a douchebag you wind up hating...you actually wind up rooting for the criminal and his drunk thug accomplice. Still, it is has some classic lines/scenes you might like because it takes place in a snotty rich Connecticut hamlet with asshole republican townies.

7. Honestly, I doubt he's even the voting type
He does not strike me as anything more than a smartass. Probably talks the talk, then stays home and does nothing. If he was on "Tough Crowd," you can be pretty sure he is, at the very least, an uninformed idiot.
