Hypothetical Question: You are running for Pres. Who do you want?
Edited on Fri Dec-10-04 12:45 PM by nickshepDEM
I know you guys are probably getting tired of the hypothetical questions I have been posting latley but hey, Im just trying to learn.

Lets pretend that you are running for president in 2008! Putting all of your bias towards either of these people aside. Who would you rather have as your CHIEF Political Strategist and leading your CAMPAIGN?

KARL ROVE or JAMES CARVILE ???
(you can choose someone else if you must, just state who why.)

But, before you answer remember that you are going to chose this guy not because you like or dislike him but because you want to WIN. Also, lets assume their is no voter fraud.

1. I'll take Carvile
To run the Campaign but I want Michael Moore to do media and advertising and I want Molly Ivans and/or Jim Hightower on speechwriting.

2. When I run in 2028 I'd like Ali G for Chief Political Strategist... ;^)
His "bag of dirty tricks" is brilliant!

An excellent example is from an interview with Britain's "formost Left-wing figure" Tony Benn, who after thinking it was all a sick hoax he realized, "but then when I saw it, I realized what he had done was to bring out all these media myths and make them look so rediculous that it is was actually an important piece of political education"

All the best,

FULL_METAL_HAT

9. He is pondscum...
His overt pandeering, spin and lies even in the name of the right cause are wrong because they discredits our side. If we can't win with the truth behind me then fuck it.

In my opinion, he was Clinton's G. Gordon Liddy.

8. That's the worst choice I've ever heard
It reminds me of teenage gross out questions like:

"Would you rather drink a cum of three day old saliva or a cup of fresh warm urine?"! HOW could either choice the the right one.

OK, I guess if a gun was to my head I'd take the left wing political hack and then a long, long, long hot shower.

I was under the impression that Carville (who was with Clinton durring his run for president) was really good Political Stratigest and even though I dont like Karl Rove he had to do something right to get bush re-elected.

11. The two aren't mutually exclusive
I think he is the best pure strategist we have. That frankly, IS accentuated by the fact that he was willing to play in the gutter with the Repiglican mud slingers. However, I find him a bit repulsive to justify even in the name of winning.

We're all learning. There are a lot of swine in human clothing hiding out there among us. Keep your eyes open.

Besides just look at the guy. Paint him green and put a santa hat on him and he is a better grinch than Jim Carry.

12. Ya, but I like his cut throat style.
I think we need that right now in our party. The republicans dont play fair with us so why should we play fair with them. And I am not refering to voter fraud or anything along those lines.

17. One word...ethics
I'd rather be ethical than win, because without ethics I couldn't live with myself. I wouldn't want to live the rest of my life being ashamed of what I'd done in order to win.

16. Joe Trippi
I wouldn't trust him with the financial aspect of the campaign, but I'd definitely want him as a chief political strategist. Look what he did for Dr. Dean.

18. Karl Rove is overrated, if he worked for a Democrat
using the same disgusting tactics he does for Bush and other Republicans, the media would expose it and it would backfire on the democratic candidate.

the problem is that the media pretty much covers for Rove and spouts whatever he wants.
