Post your answers to the latest DNC evaluation survey here:

1. How did you participate in this election?

I voted. I guess. Did it count?

2. Is this the first time you participated in election activism?

Yes. More importantly, I'm participating in post-election activism.

3. How would you like to continue to stay involved? (Volunteering, phonebanking, fundraising, local organizing, etc.)

I will technically continue to support the DNC in the coming years, however, if serious party reform is not enacted, I will be forced to consider other options.

4. Did you feel the actions you took were effective?

The actions I am currently taking are effective. I continue to write letters, attend meetings, and inform my fellow citizens.

5. Was it a good experience for you?

Having yet another election stolen is not fun, no.

6. How would you make it better?

The number one priority for the Democratic party is election reform. Without that, we will continue to be marginalised. A one party system is not one of checks-and-balances, and has no place masquerading as a democratic republic.

7. Please share other thoughts and comments you have about the 2004 election and what Democrats and the Democratic Party should do going forward.

We, as a party, need to realise the severity of the situation we've been placed in. No amount of caving to the right is going to win us elections. We WILL become the Opposition party, or die trying. This is what true democracy is.

I would like to state my nomination for DNC chair to Howard Dean.

1. Are you sure you didn't just track down my
survey results and resend them. Oh, I see you endorsed Howard Dean, so I guess not. Damn I wish I thought of that

2. Awesome.
I'm glad to hear others demanding more from our party. I hope we constitute the majority of their replies.

5. yeah I've sent a lot of messages to the Democratic establishment
basically saying, "I'm really not that liberal, it just seems that way because I have a spine"

10. We shouldn't worry about coming off as 'liberal'
It is only an evil word if the Republican party labels it as such. Fuck, I'm as liberal as I want to be, and have no problem shouting that out to anyone who will listen. I still consider myself to be a Democrat. I don't think this is a party beyond saving. Yet.

11. Sorry, I don't think being liberal is something to be ashamed of
Maybe I should have used the word "fringe", or "radical" as in "people with spines are not a fringe group." or "just because I have a spine doesn't mean I'm a radical."

3. Darn, I just sent mine in
and did not save my answers. They were kind of like yours but I don't think I was quite as nice as you were. I think I added the phrase DO SOMETHING in several places. Pretty much the same as yours except the Dean part.

4. Good!
This is great. I thought mine was rather cold and calculated, so I'm glad to hear some people sent them personal pleas that were a little more mean spirited. Haha.

6. Yours was great.
I had to delete a lot because I wanted them to read it and I was afraid they would think I was a wacko but I was so pissed that they sent this and that they just seem to not know what the hell is going on. It is not like we haven't been screaming all of this at them for the last 4 years, in my case a little longer. In one place I told them I was considering changing parties because if I had to lose I wanted to lose with my integrity in tact if nothing else. I am really not considering it yet but I left that part in just for the hell of it. I guess there is really not a better way for them to send something like this but it just seemed like they were being all conciliatory or putting on their happy faces, I was not in the mood for that so I let it fly.

8. For those who think conciliatory is just a tactic...
history stands against that being true. The only way politics will change in this country is if WE make our voices heard.

I wish more people would post how they responded.

12. That is true.
I have always believed in polite discussion but when that fails and you have something important to say then you must move beyond that. There is a point I will not cross. That is why I often write things that I quickly delete but then I am able to respond without an emotional knee jerk feeling to what I say. I hope there are more people writing instead of just deleting and thinking it will do no good. Personally I doubt it will help to respond but there is nothing to lose by trying (except your mind and at this point it is far less important than what we stand to lose). Mostly I think it is just too good for them to live and breathe inside their Washington corporate lives to really hear us. We must continue for now.

IF these comments are actually being read.
