Fox ponders "unfriendly elected leaders in Iraq" scenario
"Anti-American Future? Transcript: What should U.S. do if Iraq elects unfriendly leaders come January?"

...with an ADORABLE little teaser photo on the Fox front page of Junior superiposed over a map of Iraq, as if he is some form of omniscient, GODLY presence.

JOHN GIBSON, HOST: Secretary of State Colin Powell (search). Democracy is coming to Iraq, anything better than Saddam, but what if Iraqis choose leaders who are anti-American, or who have a different idea than we do about what's best for Iraq's future? Is it even our business anymore? I'm joined now by freelance journalist Bartle Bull (search), who has spent some time over there. So, does that seem to be likely that democracy will result in an anti-American government in Baghdad?

BARTLE BULL, FREELANCE JOURNALIST: Yes, I don't think that the Shias like us very much. I'm not sure though, that we went in there to set up a puppet government. I think that the great result will be that this will give a legitimate government to Iraq. We'll have this new Shia front, that's been this party, that's been announced. It's going to probably get 60 percent of the vote.

GIBSON: A quick question before we end it: is there a chance that Zarqawi gets elected? I don't mean himself, but people representing him?

BULL: No, I don't think there's any chance at all. They're really very unpopular, those guys. They've caused a lot of trouble for their fellow Iraqis. He's not Iraqi, of course, he's Jordanian.

2. I think the Fools of FOX..........................
are in for a great surprise (along with the Bu$h White House). If they think for one moment that ANY "legitimately" elected leader is going to pull Iraq together and be a model of Democracy in the Mid-East, they're bigger fools than even I think (and I think them QUITE foolish).
The FOX Fools are going to be spinning like Whirling Dervishes soon. The wheels are already falling off the Bu$h Democracy in Iraq cart, what are they going to say when the entire cart disintegrates?

3. Bush Sacrificed The Lives Of 1,200 GIs To Elect An Ayatollah?
Fundies of a feather torture prisoners together.

Looks like Fox is getting ready for one of the greatest foreign policy disasters in American history.

Typical Fox Lying Head In 8 Weeks: "I really think we can deal with Mullah Killusall. I really do. And I believe the President feels that way as well."

4. It's the best possible outcome
Being anti-American would help the new Iraqi government establish its credentials as a non-puppet state, and -- if the US accepted it -- it would earn the US some much-needed reputation points for putting its values ahead of its interests.

An *expansionist* anti-American government would be another thing altogether, but I don't see that happening.

5. They should have thought of that before.
They didn't want a democracy. They wanted a coup.

6. Nice backpedaling. since we won't get our puppet government, time to start
saying we weren't after one in the first place.

If it walks like bile and talks like bile, there's an excellent chance that it is, indeed, bile.

9. Aren't we assuming
That the puppets we have in would allow any candidates other than our puppets to run in the first place. Even if they allow other candidates to run how easy would it be to assassinate non-puppet candidates who look like they stand a chance of winning.
