Poll question: Cheney Won't Stay All Four Years: Agree or Disagree?
My prediction is that Cheney won't serve four years. He'll drop out for health reasons, and they'll appoint whoever they want running in 2008 in order to give that person the inside edge toward the GOP nomination.

Agree or disagree? (If you agree, do you have a guess as to who the replacement might be?)

20. Probably
I honestly thought that old poop would be replaced before the election, possibly by McCain. They didn't need McCain, it turns out. It didn't matter how disgusting the ticket was, the fraud "won" the election.

5. We don't see him much anyway so it's be easy for him to have the
working conditions he requires due to his health. They work well together, no reason for him to leave.

6. This administration will want someone there who can run in '08
Edited on Sat Dec-11-04 01:25 PM by MaineDem
Cheney won't be able to for health reasons.

If the BFEE can get another one of their species in a position of VP to run in '08 they can extend their reach another potential 8 years. I can't imagine them giving up that opportunity.

23. That's what I'm sayin' too
It's about appointing the VP to give that person the inside track for the next election. (I shoulda put "health reasons" in quotes!) :)

9. Guiliani
I know all the arguments against it, but I can't see anyone else.

And just because Cheney might step down, doesn't mean he's giving up the power of running Bush.

According to a bit in the Washington Post, a shoe store released a press release about how pleased they were to have VP Cheney visit them personally. It seems that for years he's ordered his shoes from them but a change in size made it necessary for him to pay a personal visit to the store in Tyson's Corner. It seems he now takes a EEEEE shoe.

What makes people's feet swell? Pregnancy, which I think we can safely discount. Congestive heart failure, which I don't think we can discount. What else? Renal failure? Also a bad sign, if that's it.

Edit: Looking at this, it seems I got carried away with the E key -- I meant he wears an EEEE shoe now.

18. If anything his heart (or what's left of it)...
will fail and he will die. His bypass surgery was over 20 years ago and he is not in the best of phsical shape. The type of pacemaker he has is for the worst of the cardiac patients. I don't think he will last another four years.

21. Cheney will be replaced either for health or Halibacon reasons.
The mepublicans can not afford to stay aligned with * for 4 years. They will have to show some form of a spaghetti spine and this would be a wonderful way to 'compromise' for 2006 & 2008.

25. Replaced
The republicans are playing to win, and this provides them with several avantages:

• No messy primary (the Dem primary hurt many good people and cost big bucks)

• Let's them hand pick a PNAC puppet.

• Gives them the edge in the next election

• Provides free media as the corporate whores spread the love from junior to ?.

Personally IMHO, if Frist is willing to take down SS and succeeds, he may have sealed the deal.

It's how they get a hand-picked, unelected "incumbent" for 2008.

30. IMO he'll leave for "health reasons" to set up their guy for 2008
His recent hospitalization gives them a perfect cover. He can 'resign' without admitting he was wrong, and they also get someone set up with essentiall 2-3 years of free advertising as VP.

thats my guess,if she has done what Mainstreem voters/media considers a good job during her first 2 years.Bush seems close to her and they seem to support the same ideas/beliefs.I can see Bush considering Condi as part of his "legacy" if he can manage to get her to be his "heir".
