So the right wing media is determining our candidate.....
I agree that Dean's last minute ad in Iowa attacking the other candidates with the sole message that he was against the war hurt him, he also looked stiff and like a dork in the ad BUT.....

The unending attacks on Dean in the last two weeks by Vannity and Colmes on FAUX and the rest of the right wing media, including CNN was the main reason for Dean's defeat.

1. I don't believe that....
I believe the main reason for Dean's defeat was that Iowa voters preferred Kerry and Edwards.

Iowa caucus-goers aren't idiots. They aren't sheep. They're committed Democrats who came out to express their views, and it's insulting to imply otherwise.

2. Exactly....
Plus, I don't think people who support candidates such as Kerry and Edwards give much credence to people like Hannity anyway.

3. They all got their ideas out, and they didnt' like Dean's.
The caucus goers I saw said Dean can't win the south. They talked about Edwards's message about class and opportunity. They talked about electability.

Where was the right wing spin in those sentiments?

8. Look I watched this on cspan
they are idiots and worse the believe all the negative and none of the positive. Also I suspect a LARGE repug influence on this cacaus the entire repug team was in Iowa today. Dean did well considering he had the DLC, DNC, RNC and the media all against him.

6. I think that may be whats happening.
I like Kerry, but frontrunner? In the last 24 hours? He and Edwards? I like Edwards too, but this doesnt make sense when so many have said, Dean had it wrapped up. Perhaps Im wrong, but something doesnt seem right.

10. Iowa isn't the rest of the country.
I heard that the Iowans wanted the candidate that would beat Bush and in their world the candidates they voted for seemed right to them for that reason. You wait and see things are only starting to get interesting. Also, Dean has been in front, but now he's going to have to try harder. I think this is good.

12. Didn't you watch the caucuses?

The citizens of Iowa chose Kerry and Edwards over Dean. Dean ran attack ads. That hurt him. He bad mouthed candidates in his speeches. That hurt him. He sent flyers out lying about Kucinich. That hurt him. He went whining to the DLC to make candidates stop picking on him. Then turned around and did the same thing.....attacked the other candidates AGAIN...... He started the bashing. Dean lost Iowa himself with his dirty campaign. I hope he learns something from this. NH voters aren't going to like it any more than Iowan's did. You asked, I replied. JMCPO
