Action Alert: Urge Congress to investigate why HUMVEEs lack adequate
armor, despite mafg. claims that they are able to provide it.

You are required to compose your own letter for this, which is not at all a bad thing, actually.

Here's mine (I am obviously pissed!):

It is unconscionable that our soldiers in Iraq are at more risk than is necessary when credible sources, including those that manufacture and install the armor on military HUMVEES, are saying it is only the Administration's restrictions that are preventing them from doing so.

Our brothers and sister, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, aunts and uncles, friends and neighbors, are dying and maimed when this kind of thing could be prevented.

It is unconscionable as well that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld would use such an awkward and disgusting analogy as this: ""You can have all the armor in the world on a tank, and it can be blown up.""

Does that mean we should drive our cars without seat belts since even with them we might just possibly have an accident?

Please note that this is NOT a form letter, it is written from the heart of an American citizen and a mother.

If you want to use your franking priveleges to respond, please show this American citizen the kindness and respect of a personal response from your staff.
