3. They are partners, so Kerik's business ties are Giuliani's ties
And they are both serial adulterers.

4. Kerik's going back to work for Giuliani's firm now
I personally think that Gonzalez is somewhat at fault, as he's the one responsible for helping to vet these picks.

5. Wrong question
Edited on Tue Dec-14-04 05:34 PM by rocknation
The right one is, "Why ISN'T the Kerick scandal having more impact on Bush?" Guiliani made the recommendation, but Bush allowed the appointment to go through. Did the Bush White House not do any checking of Kerik of their own, or was this a deliberate setup of Guiliani to ensure that Jeb Bush is the only viable GOP candidate in 2008?

6. Well we have to look to the future...
and since it's not like we're going to be voting Bush out of office anytime soon, we gotta look towards 2008 where someone like Giuliani comes into play.

7. it puts him the position
of being on his hands and knees, lips puckered, kissing bush*'s ass and begging for forgiveness

Tomorrow he starts a pilgrimage to Crawford, he'll be crawling on his hands/knees, stopping every 15 minutes to pray followed by singing the GOPer theme song "bush* is great leader-all hail the emperor"

8. Some embarrassment with his "good friend" Bush
A NYT article on this aspect was discussed in another thread a couple of days back:

Both Rudy and his dog Kerik deserve far more disgrace than they're likely to get from this.

12. So true! Evidently * goes for the "tough cop" look
But * has a clear idea of how much respect his toadies owe him, and his idea of "loyalty" means, among other less savory things, never making him look bad -- or, worse. The Kerik thing did that.

10. Did Giuliani have to vet Kerik to appoint him to his position in NYC? If
yes, he did a bad job.

Did he know and not care - that's bad or did he not know all of this about his buddy and business partner - that's bad. We are talking about corruption issues in law enforcement officials.

13. "Giuliani Partners" was poised to receive millions in no-bid contracts
Giuliani would have gotten "Homeland Security" no-bid contracts that would have made Cheney and Halliburton BLUSH. That's why Giuliani pushed, not because he gave a rat's ass whether Kerik lived or died.

Now the only thing Guiliani has is the taste of what Bush had for lunch yesterday on his lying, forked tongue.

:grr:

14. When Giuliani was DA
His #1 focus was mob guys...and who did Kerik receive $$ from? MOB guys!

They are also partners in a firm, and Giuliani did "push" for Kerik to have the job. So, yes I believe Giuliani's future political career is shot!

16. Probably neuters him. He himself has so much baggage, that it
will make the power brokers think long and hard about his viability. After all, they are the MORALITY party.
