NOW can we stop hearing about those endless polls?
How many polls predicted this result?

Kerry 38%
Edwards 32%
Dean 18%
Gephardt GONE!

The only thing that matters is getting your people into the voting booth. Period.

One way to do that is with an organization, but the two strongest organization in Iowa supported the third and fourth place finishers.

Another way is to have a message the voters want to hear.

Tonight was an example of the second method.

Volunteers and money don't cut it if the voters don't buy the message.

Tomorrow is another day.

Let's concentrate on reaching the voters and use the polls to line bird cages.

1. Sure.
I agree.

But let's have a little wager...how long before the next poll shows up here in GD04?

2. polls are meaningless for caucuses-- the press should have known
better...

But, I guarantee you that pollsters have already started or will poll tomorrow in NH.

4. Yes. They do not predict actual campaign dynamic (the people)
I keep saying they do not reflect the unique chemistry of actual real flesh and blood people absorbing the candidates and processing the personality/issues which they represent. They are fairly close to a complete waste of time.

6. Not exactly, but close enough
The DM Register today predicted this order but with lower numbers. The editor of the DMR said = on CNN = that many did not know who they would vote for as they were heading to the caucuses.

I think that many felt uneasy with Dean anger and with Gephardt "has been" and the polls ended up to be a self fulfilling prophecy - propelling Kerry and Edwards up, giving people something tangible to hold. I know it has for me.

8. Polls are Meaningful but Caucuses Aren't
Iowans showed themselves to be out of the American mainstream tonight. They might as well be on an atoll out in the Pacific. People like me aren't indifferent to Kerry, we're opposed to seeing this war monger run as the standard bearer of our party.

If Kerry supporters think we're going to forget the IWR vote, that's not what's going to happen.
