The media's mission this week: Tear down the front-runner, Kerry...
Just like they did Dean last week, they will do the same to Kerry this week. Whichever Democrat is thought to be leading the pack will be cut, hacked, and chopped down. God forbid that they would be as fair and balanced with George W Bush. But, that is what we can expect this week. They now think Kerry is going to be the nomineee so it will be time to attack him about his "tax returns" or whatever. They will find something. It probably has started already. Their predictablility is so discouraging.

1. So right
You should see it over in the Johnkerry.com forum. Repugs and all sorts of slithering creatures are coming out.

Not pretty.

2. You are right.
The key here my FRIENDS:

We have watched as Howard Dean has been attacked by the media. Some have embraced it and brought it onto these boards.

Regardless of the candidate we support - we cannot let the mean spirited attacks on any candidate stand. This is about defeating Bush - and glorifying the attacks on ANY candidate is not right.

I don't often post here but I do read daily. The nasty exchanges between so many people makes me think this is about defeating each other. It is not.

The media will go after Kerry and Clark, as well as Dean. Keep things positive and remember - we are all democrats - its GWB that we must take down!

3. it's a tough mission
I don't know how they'll do it. His biggest weakness was his Iraq vote, but Kerry did very well with the antiwar vote, and he's got Ted Kennedy with him.

What else to they have on him, that he looks French?

6. Preview of attacks by the media scheduled for this week
- Kerry (never Senator Kerry) has to ask his wife if he can sell house. Voted with the chimp. Stands with Ted from Chappaquidic.

- Edwards (never Senator Edwards) wants to bankrupt the nation with ambulance chasers. Too young. Too handsome.

- Clark (never General Clark) look at all the RW military people who don't respect him. Yugoslavia was the same as Iraq today.

Get ready for the all out assault from corpomilitaryindustrialRWtelevangelicalthugmedia.

4. I think Kerry needs to be taken down a peg
He always has an elitist, entitlement view on this primary season. A little media seasoning might not be bad for him at least it'll toughen him up if nothing else. He needs to back off for a second and re-consider how his "smug" attitude will be percieved in the election.

13. Sorry to inform you but a caucus isn't a real vote.

It's not even a private affair, you have to publically discuss candidates and strongarm tactics are quite popular. Wait to some real elections to see how Kerry does, minus the strongarmers.

22. Yeah, that 85% of Massachusetts voters
There were people standing there with bats forcing them to vote when they didn't even have to vote at all. People believe in John Kerry, they know his record, they know his heart, they fight for him like nobody else. Max Cleland broke his hand, put off surgery, and kept working. That's how much we believe in John Kerry. And we're headed for New Hampshire, so look out!

10. If the media get the signal, they will cut up Kerry.

My feeling on it is, whatever candidate Bush wants to
run against, the media will treat with kid gloves until
after the nomination/convention.

If Bush wants Kerry, Kerry will get the softball
treatment from now on.

anymore than that weasel Gephardt gets.

The only winner tonight is George W. Bush.

It will be the other candidates. Now Kerry will have a big bull's eye on his back.

21. One exception.
He won't have Gephardt putting everything he has into taking him down. This was part of both Dean's and Gephardt's demise in Iowa.

It'll be easier on Kerry. Not much, but a little easier.

16. Kerry's ready.
During the race with Weld all the guns were trained on Kerry and they didn't take him down. Kerry will turn those attacks right around if they come, in a 21st century combination of political jujitsu and theres-no-such-thing-as-bad-publicity. (OK, so maybe I'm feeling overly optimistic tonight, hehe)

17. Media, with help from former Kerry staffers
Don't forget that some former Kerry staffers now work for other candidates (specifically Chris "I left a laptop in the car and it got stolen" LeHane)

him replaced by a statesman such as Kerry.

23. I doubt it.
I think there will be a Kerry & Edwards media honeymoon for some time. Media will spend a lot of time deconstructing Dean disappointment. They need to spend a lot of time building something up before they tear it down. And when they tear it down, they like to wallow.
