Once again - Weren't we all hurt by this?
Or have I missed something?

Bear with me now...

I, Like many of us, feel sick to my stomach when I hear about journalists being indicted for refusing to name their sources without having committed any ACTUAL crime... all while having to turn on the television and be subjected to the putrid, nauseating, pug-face of the ONE 'journalist' who ACTUALLY committed a crime... That's right folks...

Robert Novak.

Unless I have my facts screwed up - he's THE 'reporter' who printed the name of an undercover CIA agent in a national publication.

This act not only endangered the life of Valerie Plame (the agent 'outed' by Novak), but the lives of every person who worked with her in that operation.
But the damage was far worse than that...

From what I understand, Valerie Plame's operation was a CIA owned asset whose principle (and apparent) business was to broker deals of certain 'difficult to obtain' items, including items whose purpose could be related to the development of dire weaponry.

In other words - This was a CIA operation whose purpose and capacity was to buy and sell and thereby to effectively track ITEMS WHICH COULD BE USED TO PRODUCE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION all over the WORLD.

That's right, with the help of the White House, Robert Novak single-handedly TRASHED an operation which was at the heart of and provided intelligence regarding WHO HAD WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AND WHERE.

You all feel safer?
I don't.

Robert Novak has personally compromised the security of not only every American, but of EVERY HUMAN BEING ON THE PLANET!!!

We no longer have that asset, I hope to God we have back-ups, but WE KNOW he trashed one of them.
I can Imagine the covert nuance about how "The operation was at a critical expiration point." or "The asset was already compromised."

Doesn't matter to me - that's a call for the CIA, NOT some brown-nosed, knee-pad wearing hack reporter.

Period.

I submit that, unless proven otherwise, This jackass named Robert Novak is responsible for compromising the security of ALL AMERICANS and should be held accountable both criminally and by CLASS ACTION SUIT.

Any attorneys here know what that is?

I'll be the first to sign on.

If you think this is a worthwhile pursuit – say so.
If you think others should see this, give it a kick.

Bear with me now...

2. Other reporters may go to jail for his crime.
Some show played a clip of when he was asked that question...and he stammered and stuttered. I heard it Sirius, but don't remember which show.

3. totally agree
There is some speculation that they haven't called on him yet, because they want to get as many facts as possible so he can't squirm out of the questioning once they do get to him. He's in cahoots with someone in the House...everytime he writes about someone or something I have learned it's best to just believe the opposite of him...he's the Office of Disimformation in total...

4. disagree
Journalists don't get to break the law because they want to write about the news. They shouldn't get any privileges over and above what every other American has. I thin they should be punished when necessary.

5. You don't know the law then

the leaker is not a "source" in any accepted sense of the word. The leaker contacted the reporter and does not deserve the shield of anonymity that is granted to those who expose wrongdoing in government. That person was in government and engaged in wrongdoing and is a perpetrator and Novak a co-conspirator.

6. I agree...
I believe that anyone complicit in this mess should be named in a C.A. suit.

That is if the administration doesn't make such suits illegal.
