2. Just so you know
Republicans are the herd followers and the people who can't face things honestly; Democrats are impossible to herd and are willing to discuss even painful things openly and honestly.

For the most part.

5. Sounds good to me.
:) We are where the "bright" action is:

"What became of the realists? Like the neocons, they are only policy intellectuals and bureaucrats, dependent on the politicians who appoint them. Among educated Americans, they won the foreign-policy debate decisively. No one doubts it. There are scores of bright people from George Will to William F. Buckley to Kenneth Pollack who are born-again realists; no one has recently converted to neoconservatism." -Scott McConnell

3. Look, we're naturally a fractious party
As liberals, I find that we disdain deference and blind loyalty, and therefore value the ability to criticize one another freely. Usually this is healthy; sometimes I admit that it can be self-destructive.

Sometimes, I think we need to remember that we all came to this site because we share a certain worldview and generally have a common cause, however difficult it may be to see through our individual battles.
