The press tried to do a good job. They wanted to tell the people the truth about what was going on around them. They wanted to be fair in their analysis but somewhere they lost their way. They never thought it was that important. It had always turned out for the best. Why would this time be any different?

So they sat back and watched the government dismantle their last remaining freedoms. They turned their heads the other way as the leaders were lying to get us involved in a small, illegal war in the Middle East.

But then, one day, they realized that when they yelled "wolf", nobody came.
