Saddam sends message to Iraqis from prison
Ousted leader tells Iraqis to unite against occupation, lawyer says http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6734745/

AMMAN, Jordan - From his prison cell, ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein urged his compatriots to remain united against the U.S. occupation and warned of the potential dangers of the upcoming elections, his lawyers said Sunday.

“Our representative in Iraq told us that the president warned the people of Iraq and the Arabs to beware of the American scheme aimed at splitting Iraq into sectarian and religious divisions and weakening the (Arab) nation,” said Bushra Khalil, a Lebanese member of the defense team.

“The president sent recommendations to the Iraqi people to remain united and not fall in the trap of America's slogans,” she said. “He said Kurds, Arabs, Shiites, Sunnis and Christians are all Iraqis who all have to stand united against the American plot.”

“President Saddam recommended to the Iraqi people to be careful of this election, which will lead to dividing the Iraqi people and their land,” al-Khasawneh said. When he heard aircraft flying over the location of his imprisonment, Saddam said: “These are probably going to Fallujah. I live with their pain.”

3. i wonder if it comes from their dictator twin soul's shadow side but,
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 07:56 PM by flordehinojos
isn't it interesting that both Saddam Hussein and Fidel Castro can RECOGNIZE bullshit when they hear it? I mean ... how much more clearer can Saddam Hussein be when he talks about "AMERICAN SCHEME"? to divide Iraq and all of their religious sects. DIVIDE AND CONQUER that is for sure BUSH's SLOGAN. ISN'T THAT WHAT HE'S DONE HERE? DIVIDE AND RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS WHAT HE HAS DONE HERE.

It is known that the bush bastard has been "scheming" against Iraq and against America ever since he pushed himself into the white house. (I think the picture of Bush pushing Clinton out of the way into Clinton's Library so that he, Bush, could get in first, should be used as an illustration of how Bush got in to the white house...and if that isn't, in some sort of way, a Saddam Hussein dictator soul, I don't know what is--and by the way, Fidel Castro can recognize the same crap coming out of the bushes that Saddam Hussein can).

5. That's the dilemma here...
Saddam did some things that just weren't right, and that's been used as a smokescreen for the neocon / fundamentalist / fanatic "mandate" of the Bush administration.

There are probably some details that Saddam could offer up regarding the Bush family that might be, to put it mildly, "damaging." But because he's Saddam, the media will create so much "white noise" that it will be received as the ramblings of an insane, dethroned dictator.

The same way WE will read Bush's memoirs some day.

The Iraqis are one of the most educated people's in the Middle East with a pre-sanction educational system that rivalled the best ones in Europe.

I think they figured this all out on their own. It's not too hard to do.

But yeah, it's bad news for the Chimp Boy alright! He's not going to get that oil flowing again any time soon

10. Underestimating Saddam's influence...
is a huge mistake. In spite of all the demonizing that the U.S. has done many Iraqis don't buy that Saddam was another Hitler. They may also recognize that the U.S. supported Saddam for many years and then punished the Iraqi people for Saddam's position regarding Kuwaite. The situation in Iraq is not as simple as the Fascist Govt. of the U.S and the majority of the Mass Media have been propagandizing for many years. A study of the 1st Gulf War is essential in understanding what has occurred since then.

13. I tend t take these types of story with a grain of salt....
Since we did not hear it ourselves, it is only a "he said - she said" type of story. The CIA is very good at this. My first question is "Why?"

14. this isn't bad news for the boy king at all.
just bad news for the troops...

It's funny how "Saddam Hussein" just happens to say the very things that support the Bush Fraudministrations contention that the "insurgents" are Saddam "loyalists".

I never thought the guy they pulled out of that foxhole looked much like the real Saddam anyway. Like the last few "Osama tapes" he's just a stand in to help fabricate a justification for the continued occupation of the Middle East.
