If we survive George W Bush, what worse fate could there be? If we lose the next election, will it be because the "left" did not join forces with the "centrist" Democrats and let the Repubs win once again? Are you ready for that result?
And if you're ready to take a stand, what are you ready to fight for? If you lose, what is it that is worth fighting for and losing? The Good Book says "Steal once and steal no more..." (paraphrasing) so one might take that to mean if you steal, steal enough to last a long, long time. So, if the "left" is to take a stand, stand for something that will last a long, long time...
