2. Not going to happen as long as the Republicans
are the majority, unless some of the GOP wusses get really fed up.

3. No chance. Zip. Zero.
The House has to bring up articles of impeachment. The House is controlled by Republicans. 'Nuff said.

4. Doubful
Lie, misleading statement it doesn't matter to those in power they are all guilty of it or at least 99.9% of them. Don't expect them to be leading the charge to nail someone for behavior they are guilty og themselves.

6. None, Zero, Zilch
Short of Bush or Cheney being caught on tape with underage boy would they be impeached, even then they probably would just resign and then pardoned by those who replaced them.

***** Alert *****

I am just using that as an example. I am not saying they are or will ever do this, the underage boy thing. I just wanted to point out how absurd the loyalty these clowns get.

**** Alert *****

7. Nope. Hitler didn't get impeached. It took an ENTIRE WORLD to usurp the
hitler regime.

it will take a lot more than 49 million american democrats to unseat bush and remove his regime from power.

Give it 10 - 15 years.

10. I pray for such a miracle but then the Repubs would need to be
honest with the American people about their own party,
hmm, I do not know about that one.

11. With a Republican Congress?
He would have to be found in bed either with a dead girl or a live boy.

And even then, I have my doubts.

To impeach, you'd need at least a majority in the House. You'd probably need more, because there are always going to be some Democrats who will not vote to impeach, and there are not as many Republicans who would vote to impeach.

To convict, you have an even greater challenge. You have 44 Dems in the Senate come next year, one independent who generally sides with us, and maybe five Republicans who would vote to convict if the evidence were really compelling.

So you've got 50 votes, assuming that every Dem votes to convict - and that is by no means a certainty. So maybe you've got 47 or 48 votes. But you need 67.

Under what circumstances do you pick up the necessary Republican votes to at least impeach Bush? Well, let's look at the Watergate scandal, when the Republicans in the Senate were prepared to vote in favor of both impeaching and convicting Nixon.

Nixon was extremely unpopular, and the 1974 midterm elections were approaching. His unpopularity threatened to hurt the GOP in that election.

Bush, while not massively popular, has yet to post an approval rating in the 20s or even in the 30s. And his lies do not seem to have hurt the party at all. I believe they will, but not yet.

Long story short: Impeachment - practically impossible, Conviction - impossible. But if Bush politically hurts the GOP in the next four years, then who knows?

12. Bush ordered torture, the ACLU says today.
They got the executive order through a freedom of information act.
Doesn't that violate some sort of law?

14. You see, my point to ask the question is to raise another
about checks and balances..... The Media will need to lead and lead in a big way for it to happen.... Thanks for your thoughts, I guess we might get lucky with the Ohio thing but the MSM thinks it is a waiste of time and $$$

13. Maybe after 2006?
We might be able to take back the majority in congress in 2006. I don't know how many people will be up for reelection, but maybe?

15. all house members are up every 2 years
but not many seats are actually competitive. unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that we'll get a majority in the house in 2006, even though it is always theoretically possible.

19. IF this get prolonged MSM attention,
and IF Dems take back at least one house of Congress, which will be possible only IF we get integrity back in our elections, or IF there is a "fraud proof" (15% or more) margin in support of the candidates/seats needed to retake the House or Senate, ONLY THEN will there be a snowball's chance in hell of impeachment...
The glass isn't even half-empty, but it does have a few drops in the bottom...

17. ACLU says....
It would take the original signed docs from GW Bush for anything to happen. Even then it would be doubtful that the Rethugs would vote to impeach their Glorious Leader.

18. Impeachment
Sure, he did all those things, and more.

But with the Republicans controlling the House and Senate, the chances of Bush's impeachment is about zero.

I can't think of a single Republican in the House who would be willing to step up and write articles of impeachment.

And I can't think of 2/3 votes in Senate to vote for conviction.
