Of course all rightwingnuts want to be in fit fighting shape to go fight for their bush-god's lies when the draft is reinstated.

It's a surprise that recruitment for the military forces is down by 30-50%; one would have thought the rightwingnut warmongers would be lining up in hordes to voluntarily enlist to serve their bush-god, rather than making him look bad by forcing him to bring back the draft!

Reserve's Top General warns of draft again

Army Reserve recruiting is in a "precipitous decline" that could provoke new debate over a draft if not slowed, the Reserve's top general said Monday.

As Gen. Peter Schoomaker, the Army chief of staff, said at a congressional hearing last month, "I'm committed to providing the troops that are requested (for Iraq). But I can't promise more than I've got."

The Army is fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and maintaining a military presence in the Balkans, Germany, South Korea and other foreign countries with a total force of just under 500,000. It had more than 800,000 under arms when it waged the brief Persian Gulf war in 1991.

"You need a bigger Army if you're going to carry out the Bush national security strategy," said Lawrence Korb, who served as assistant secretary of defense in the Reagan administration. "Right now, you're really using the reserves at an unsustainable pace, and you're violating the norms that you have for deploying people overseas that you've established not only for equity but for retention."

The United States has more troops in all branches serving abroad than it averaged from 1950 to 2003, and three times as many overseas as it had in December 2001, according to a study by the Washington-based Heritage Foundation.

And a rifle & ammo. Our toops are very short on both those in Iraq. Wouldn't want to send the rightwingnuts into war without enough body armor, rifles and ammo. Even though bush did exactly that to our "volunteer" soldiers.

3. No, they need to fatten up, the little pigs

It's hard keeping weight on once you get to the sandbox, even with the high calorie instant food. And we learned today that going to the mess tent can get you killed. You're hauling around a shitload of gear and if you're lucky, body armor, you are sweating like a pig, drinking water like crazy, catching all sorts of odd virii, getting bit to death by sand fleas and God knows what-all, crapping your guts out if you catch some iffy water, getting some great digestive tract problems, funny crap gets into even the smallest scratch and can get pussy, infected, and nasty...no fear, they'll come back thinner than they left.

So hey, they should eat, eat, eat while they can--they'll lose that weight, and probably that fat head, soon enough--unless they get exempted and do not have to go. The way they might like that the draft will work is Democrats first, then Greens, then Libertarians...they'll take the GOP last, and probably send the Fundies first, just to get rid of them so they don't have any issues with the sector that believes in those Ten Commandments!
