What if Washington State Republicans
were in charge of elections? Al Gore would be president right now. Isn't it a wonderful Christmas present sent right from Jesus Christ to see the right wing hypocrisy front and center and on display from sea to shining sea during this blessed time of giving? God Bless all of you conservatives and your very little sanctimonious hearts. You have truly made it a Happy Holiday.

1. I do think they're hypocrites
but I say they should look at all those ballots. Gives us precedent in Ohio...not that that'll make any difference. Also...if Rossi got more votes I think he should be governor. The same goes for Gregoire. It does piss me off that it is bad for a Dem to ask for recounts, but its ok for republicans to ask for ballot reviews...god they're freaking nut bags.

5. The GOP had no shame recounting Reid/Ensign in '98
The Nevada senate race, conveniently forgotten whenever the Republicans scream about hand recounts. That race was a 400 vote margin and the GOP anted up about $75,000 to recount the state. Reid's margin held, virtually identical.

This is awesome news out of Washington. I'm embarrassed to admit I learned of Gregoire's surge only today, via email from Terry McAuliffe, of all things. I followed the original recount update-by-update via specific Washington websites, until the depressing 42 vote margin. A family medical concern has kept me out of touch with politics and DU for a month.

Wow, a great Christmas Eve gift. At least we've managed to pull out these finales the last few years -- Louisiana senate and gov runoffs and now the Washington recount.

4. Nah, if Jesus had been in charge...
...Ron Sims would have won the primary.

But Gregoire over Dino the Dumbass? We'll take it :)
