More on the saga of my RW Brother & his wife
Got back from visiting my family back in the Pittsburgh area (GO STILLERS!).

For those without a scorecard, my brother was vehemently kissing Bush's ass (along with his wife - so afraid of Kerry).

So, I kept my mouth shut for Christmas. Enjoyed the family.

Found out my brother, who left what would seem a better paying job for a union job driving truck (I believe), was about to "lose his job" (hmm, back in the 80s, when he drove truck with our father, he was rather union). Seems the job he took was not getting the contracts, and he's gonna get laid off.

Honestly, I still feel sympathy for him and his wife and four-year-old. He and wife still appear to have the rose-colored blinders on . . .

On what may be a better note, my uncle (who joked with brother at Thanksgiving about "going to vote for Kerry before not voting for Kerry") was showing concern over why the soldiers were over there in Iraq. I didn't hear much of the conversation, but I did hear that he figured it was about the oil. Ah, but I may be deluding myself, for he said something to the effect of "Maybe we should surround it and just defend the area." Not sure if he's talking about the oil fields, or what.

1. As the number of dead and wounded go up, support will go down.
They say there are at least 10 severely wounded for every dead soldier. Very, very sad.

2. I just moved from Pissburgh
That beer town with a footfall problem.

The die hard reds will soon realize that their logic for voting for the chimp was sadly mistaken. Right wing pep talks from hate radio and dis-spin-torsion on Faux news will only go so far when you are out of a job, your family is hungry, and Uncle Sam knocks on your door to forcibly volunteer you for duty in Iraq. The blinders will come off, sooner or later. :evilfrown:

3. Gee, that's too bad for your brother
But at least I hope he feels safer, knowing that someone who doesn't look French is in the Oval Office, calling the shots in Iraq.
