6. I wish MSNBC would put Ron & Crowley's show on in Norville's spot and
forget about Tucker Carlson.

7. Geez people
This sounds like it might be interesting but if you don't tell the people who didn't see it what happened this thread is absolutely useless.

10. detail please ....details- I so despise monica crowface
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 08:43 PM by priapis
on her wabc radio show she sounds sort of like a conservative emily litella (the snl gilda ratner character).

she's also very full of herself, and brings up at least 3 or 4 times a week that she worked for (the near-death elderly) nixon.

8. Lets see...
He started out doing some talk about framing the issues. Pro choice, pro life, anti choice anti life.

Crowley said dems need to stop being extreme on issues and values

Ron pointed out republicans stances on healthcare, war in iraq, and other issues hardly showed good values.

he also pointed out that 'under god' was added to the pledge under mcarthy, and he also asked monica crowley to name three values for what she was talkin about and she was silent. There's probably more but I cant remember. Watch it if you can. It's good.

11. Thanks
I think they re-run it later. Ron Reagan is very good. It would be great if they gave him his own show but god forbid someone present a liberal/progressive point of view on television news.

9. My brief but best shot at a synopsis....
Both Ron Reagan and Crowley agreed that Washington state has had 3 recounts and, although further recounts could yield yet another set of numbers, Rossi needs to concede so that Washington state can have a Governor.

Ron really hammered Crowley on "what values" do the Republicans stand for. For example, the 'under God' part of the pledge being added during the McCarthy era in order to weed out evil Communists and the issue of 100000 Iraqi civilians being killed. He asked her 'are these the values you're talking about?' It was really good.

Talked about the future of the Democrats and the leadership. Ron Reagan stated that the Democrats need to get their message across better, not change the message to Republican lite. Both Crowley and Reagan feel that Howard Dean will not be the next chair of the DNC......sorry, Dean supporters, just providing my synopsis.

That's the best of my recollection. Anyone else who watched, feel free to add/amend.

12. One thing to add.
I agree that Ron didn't think Dean would get the job, but he sounded like he wanted him to. He used the term republican-lite. and talked about many of the same values and terms.

with Monica Crowley soon, which is as good as having him as a Congressman.

19. Last half hour was a good show, Ron Reagan and Paul Krugman.
Reagan and Crowley were very good.

Ron Reagan's one liberal talking head who can calmly and respectfully dismantle a right wing arguement and not back down. He said that he didn't think Dean would be voted DNC chair (sadly, I agree). Crowley was positively frothing at the mouth at the possibility saying that this would be suicide for the Democrats. Question, why should the Democrats listen to a right wing ideologue when it comes to who will head the party? I don't know but they probably will.

This was followed by Paul Krugman who as usual was sane and understandable on both the problems in the airline and is one of the few people who is lucid and reassuring regarding social security. He needs to be out there more.

20. Tweety wasn't there tonight-still on vacation--Thank God--it
made the show actually watchable! Ron kicked ass. He really challenged the bubble-headed bleached blonde on every absurd thing that fell out of her mouth. Did y'all notice how when he challenged her she was try to change the subject and claim that wasn't what she said or meant and then launch into another subject?

21. Ron said Dems need to stop letting Repubs frame
the debate.
(this is what I got from it)

Such as
they are "Pro-life/ Anti-Abortion"
it makes us the polar opposite "anti-life/ Pro-abortion"

they use the words "faith based or under God"
again, the opposite, "no faith no God"

Quit letting them bully us into a corner on our positions.

He went onto explain there are some cases where parental notification is not necessary like when Dad is the father of the baby. Are you going to ask him for permission?

I have liked Ron from way back to his GMA days. Considering his daddy was prez while georgies was vice. He has always had the upper hand as well as brains.

23. Gee... YA THINK?
Too bad none of the geniuses in the DNC listened to that advice during the campaign

They still haven't figured out that to see the center from the DNC, you have to look to your left, and you'll NEVER EVER see it if you look only to your right.
