Chimp "monitors" earthquake damage from TX -- drafts script?
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=544&ncid=703&e=1&u=/ap/20041228/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush

"He's been monitoring it very closely," White House spokesman Trent Duffy told reporters at a briefing here. "He's seen some of the images on television."

(snip)

"Now is a time for him to, sort of, think about how he wants to address the American people," Duffy said, adding that there were no speechwriters at the ranch. "I think the best way to characterize it is there are some initial drafts."

Is that a weather report, or is the Chimp actually trying to write his own lines??

I hope it's not a prediction.

By the way, what is "sort of" thinking?

2. Address the American people?
How about the people actually affected?

3. I know, it's all about political appearances
Besides, the Murcan people need Chimp as a "moral compass," so how will they know to feel anything about this tragedy unless the Chimp tells them what to feel?

So you can see why he's concentrating on his speech and spending time on that. That's the important thing. Oh, and watching TV.

4. I can't believe he's actually planning an address about the disaster.
He's too busy working up the speeches about our domestic disaster...his presidency.

Seriously, his Inauguration speech and the State of the Union Address are probably the only things going on around Bush right now.

5. If you think he cares about Tsunami victims
then you probably also believe he cares about the soldiers in Iraq or your job or unborn children. Why doesn't he just stop pretending and send an aid package to Sri Lanka consisting of a 7 page fax: first page just has a BIG 'F' on it, second page has a 'U' .......well, you get the idea. And when can you get back to work on footballs and Nikes?

6. "'sort of, think about how'" very declaritve and at par with his usual
subpar embarrassing performance. That he has to "think" about how:

* specially trained carrier pigeons
TV formal address (live from the cedar just freshly chopped)
press gaggle in front of the shed
radio - yikes, maybe wait til the regular one on Saturday...
robo calls....

* is a blight on humanity!

7. I know what the real problem is....
Bush is afraid to speak in public about this disaster, because he still hasn't figured out how to pronounce "tsunami".
