Kerry's "Magic Dragon" 'toke': The Cotton Mouth and The Munchies
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 09:56 AM by Paragon
HE'S SMOKED MARIJUANA BEFORE! He's NUTS! We need at least a HUNDRED posts on this!!!

:silly:

By the way, I'm pretty sure it's The Sound and The Fury. Faulkner and Shakespeare told me so.

on edit: This is a JOKE thread. Look at the rest of the board for one second.

1. I never figured him for much of a party animal,
but hey, whatever works. As long as he still has enough living brain cells to be president of the US (and we're finding out now exactly how low that bar can be set), then more power to him for admitting it.

2. I thought that was funny
Christ, how many of us have joked around by doing that while listening to that or any of the hundreds of other songs about mari-joo-wanna?

Now, it would be REALLY funny if he or another candidate imitated Bush snorting coke...

3. Kerry's not a hypocrite. He doesn't run from saying he smoked pot.
He also wants pot use decriminalized, and medical marijuana use legalized.

It would be foolish of Kerry to pretend he didn't have a 'colorful' past. It wouldn't be him.

5. Question
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 09:57 AM by HFishbine
No flaming, just an honest inquiry (about the candidate who is my second choice). Does Kerry really want marijuana decriminalized? Is there a source or link that can confirm?

9. A DK supporter put up a thread a couple weeks ago
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 10:20 AM by blm
where a propot organization rated the candidates and DK received an A+ and Kerry an A-. The others scored Ds and Fs.

Found it:

6. The honesty is refreshing
You don't see a lot of honesty in politics... the fact that he'd admit to it rather than deny it until he was blue in the face gets my respect.

11. Thank you, but...

Thanks for the link. While it speaks favorably of Kerry's stance on medical marijuana, there is no mention of decriminilizing marijuana use. Anybody?

14. He said in an interview
that the way you handle it first is to have your prosecutors stop prosecuting those cases. That's what he did in Mass. when he was running the prosecutor's offices there.

That's the first step.

(I think it was his Rolling Stone interview.)

10. i don't think the "puff" is negative
Kerry's general problem is being stiff, if he can show a light-hearted moment like that -- it wasn't like he was imitating a bong hit -- then he can show himself as an "everyman" (as he did with Vietnam and his later protests) instead of a northeastern elitist 1/2 billionaire.
