Democratic Debate on Thursday--Clark will be participating |
|
I post this only because many on this board thought that Clark was afraid to debate when he took a pass on the Iowa debates. We will see how afraid he is on Thursday night. Game on!
PS Congrats to Kerry and Edwards for their showing in Iowa!

4. Huh? 18% is getting your ticket punched? |
|
Some perspective if you take Dean's 18% and ad it to Gephardts 11% and Kucinich's 1% it still does not catch Edwards. So in the 3 man race Dean would have still lost. I don't think its over for Dean, I still expect him to make a run, but he was far from getting his ticket punched.

7. It surely is 'getting your ticket punched'. |
|
'There are 3 tickets out of Iowa' was and is conventional Democratic wisdom, and Gov. Dean got the third one.

it sucked when they did it to Clinton it still sucks now when DEMS do it to other DEMS. I am a Desert Storm Vet and it turns my stomach to see people on our side use that right wing litmus test.

There are a great many right wing litmus tests being thrown around. I hate to see it, too, but unless all sides cut it out, it goes on.

He only entered the race as part of a "Stop Dean Movement," and now that he has to fight with Kerry for the non-Dean votes in NH, I think his days are numbered.

hold your nose and pay no attention.
The voters will decide this one just like the last one and testosterone driven grandstanding in here won't matter any more than it did in Iowa.

8. The only debates Clark missed were in Iowa |
|
And I'm not counting the DC one, since only three people participated.
He missed the Iowa one due to the expected birth of his grandson. Wes Clark III wound up being delivered around Christmas, but it was a little late to get in on the Iowa debates.
Beside the fact that he was pooling his resources in NH, I can understand this. I'm sure Clark is pretty enthusiastic about the NH debate.

I can't stand that he never adds anything but crude attacks on Dean, and now he'll probably focus on Kerry, Edwards, and Clark + Dean for good measure.
Joe needs to pack up and go home, if he "surges" I'll lose my lunch.

to see this debate! I hope...."You're a republican", "you praised Bush and the cabal" and "you were a lobbyist" is thrown at Clark. I would love for him to answer those on National TV and let the people hear the FACTS. Get it out of the way. Make it a non-issue for future attacks. Neutralize it...right now.
Go, Wes!

36. I hate to call a fellow Clark supporter naive but |
|
I have little hope that Clark will be able to explain anything in a debate conducted by Brit Hume from FAUX (the WWE of Journalism) NEWS.
I think this coming debate will make the others seem like absolute paragons of virtue.
Watch and learn, and learn as well who the White House most desperately does not want to face in November. Hint? He isn't a doctor.

|
many will be watching. He needs to talk about his record, about healthcare, about education and about jobs. He must not let the others throw him off his game. He must let Kerry and Clark go after one another and stay above it.

34. Hmmm. Campaigning in NH. Debating in NH. Makes sense to me |
|
Lets see how it goes with just seven people on the stage.
This should be Clark's first appearance as the target de jour.
I imagine we'll hear six versions of the attacks.
Kerry--he's a Beltway lobbyist! Damn those D.C. insiders!
Edwards--I'm just wild about saffron, saffron's wild about me...
Lieberman--he's a Republican! Believe me, I can tell.
Sharpton--nice sweater. I used to have a couch with that design.
Kuchinich--uhh, John? About those caucus guys of yours? Remember our agreement?
Dean--grrrrrr
Should be interesting to see the Clark show on Thursday.
