Noam Chomsky will endorse Kucinich if he is nominated: "For a variety of complex (but I think sufficient) reasons I've never been a public endorser of a presidential candidate. If Dennis were running against Bush, I'd change that position, for the first time." According to Paul Robinson writing in the New York Times: "Judged in terms of the power, range, novelty and influence of his thought, Noam Chomsky is arguably the most important intellectual alive today."
San Francisco Commissioner and Green Party Member Paul Kangas: "Dennis’s bold stands against the war & the war mongers in the Democratic Party, are necessary to make America beautiful and end the era of 'The Ugly Americans' that the world rightfully sees our government as. I endorse Dennis Kucinich for President." Kangas is an internationally known award winning producer of TV shows and the author of "The Earth Belongs to the People." Kangas is co-founder of KPOO radio station, cofounder of Earth Day in 1969, and long time women's rights activist, and an organizer of anti-war marches including the April 1968 March on Washington on which he worked with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Kangas has registered in the Democratic Party in order to support Kucinich.
Scott Ritter is the author of "Frontier Justice: Weapons of Mass Destructions and the Bushwacking of America" and "Endgame: Solving the Iraq Crisis." Ritter was chief weapons inspector for the U.N. during the 1990s, and correctly predicted before the invasion of Iraq that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction.
Missouri Congressional Candidate Corey Mohn: "Today, after a careful and full consideration of all the candidates running in 2004, I proudly announce my endorsement of Dennis Kucinich for president of the United States. As I have repeatedly stated in my campaign for Missouri's 3rd District congressional seat, the Democratic Party has lost its identity. In the process, candidates have purposefully blurred their stances on the issues in order to appeal to as many voters as possible. This is occurring in my race, and the trend is a symptom polluting our current political system. The Kucinich campaign has bucked the trend by embracing a refreshing concept: a candidate should fully inform voters of their beliefs on issues and stand by them. Dennis has been forthright and specific from the beginning of his campaign. His website - www.kucinich.us - outlines his stance on more than 50 important issues, far more than any of his competitors. Each position is clearly thought out and articulated. The result of these views, when examined as part of one overarching plan, is a clear, progressive prescription for what ails America. From the beginning, my campaign for U.S. Congress has focused on the often-ignored and ever-important issue of protecting Americans' civil liberties. As I have stated since I entered the 3rd District race, my first act in Congress will be to repeal John Ashcroft's PATRIOT Act and direct the U.S. House of Representatives to conduct an audit on every case prosecuted under the guise of this bogus legislation. Dennis Kucinich remains the only candidate in the presidential race brave enough to call for the full and total repeal of the PATRIOT Act, and I respect the heck out of him for doing so. In conclusion, Dennis Kucinich's vision provides me with great hope that we can create a better tomorrow and a better America. I encourage anyone who is undecided to give Dennis careful consideration." www.mohn2004.com
Bruce Gagnon: "I am pleased to endorse Dennis Kucinich for president as I have seen him stand against plans to put weapons into space. Dennis has also stepped up to call for cuts in military spending, something few others are willing to do."
Connie Hogarth: "I endorse Dennis Kucinich for President because on all key issues of state from environment and environmental justice, to his Department of Peace plan and his clear plan to get out of Iraq and bring the troops home; to his trade policies to replace NAFTA and the WTO and develop fair trade and stop the bleeding of our people's resources and wealth to enhance the greed of the already wealthy and corporate; his concern for all the vital social programs which make our country truly rich in democratic values; and his opposition to the undermining of our civil liberties in the so called Patriot Act. His is a campaign of integrity and honesty and no pandering to special interests." Hogarth is the Director of the Center for Social Action, co-founder and former director for 24 years of WESPAC, Westchester Peoples Action Coalition, former board member of the National Rainbow Coalition and delegate to J. Jackson Presidential Campaign, and member of the board of ISPEC, Indian Point Safe Energy Coalition.
Peter Maniscalco: "I believe Dennis Kucinich has a better understanding and the most progressive environmental agenda of all the presidential candidates." Maniscalco was for years the Coordinator of the Stop Shoreham Campaign which prevented the opening of a nuclear plant. He was a named plaintiff in a successful lawsuit filed by ratepayers and the Suffolk County government against the Long Island Lighting Company that won $400 million for ratepayers. He is a founding organizer of CALA (Community Alliance for Lab Accountability).
Carlton Cornett: "I appreciate Congressman Kucinich's courage in representing part of the Democratic party that is often voiceless. His position on healthcare and pharmaceutical company abuses has had a major impact on forming my thinking on healthcare issues. It is in agreement with the Institute of Medicine – that voice has to be heard. I am a life-long opponent of the death penalty. It takes tremendous courage to argue against the need for the death penalty. I am an openly gay man that has been in a relationship for 13 years. I am proud that Dennis is looking at legitimizing gay/lesbian relationships. Domestic partnerships need not be separate but equal. Defining marriage as encompassing same sex as well as opposite sex relationships is visionary." Cornett is a lifelong liberal Democrat and a clinical social worker specializing in psychotherapy with the sexual minority population. He has authored dozens of journal articles on this topic as well as two books on psychotherapy with gay men as well as a third book on spirituality in psychotherapy. In 2000, his race for the Democratic nomination for a U.S. house seat was the first time an openly gay may ran for federal office in Tennessee.
