Idiot Logic: Don't criticize Chimp, or we might 'look bad' to the world
A caller on C-Span (I know, I know) made a familiar claim that we shouldn't criticize Chimp's inaugural speech because it makes us look bad in the eyes of the rest of the world.

In other words, if we just shut up, the rest of the world won't notice what an incompetent, arrogant, greedy, idiotic, spoiled, narcissistic, reckless, phony, selfish fuckwad he is.

Isn't it nice to know people care what the rest of the world thinks?

6. Yet they demand cash.
Why would you accept $$ from someone you hate?

Let's be honest, America is always respected in the world when it comes to receiving aid.

8. in times of need you don't choose.
We happen to have more than just about every other country in the world, and at least as far as this gov't, we're not particularly generous. Sorry to burst your bubble.

15. You're right, about that.
But I think you should also acknowledge or at least consider that what makes us a rich nation able to give is the same reason many don't like us. After all, our evil corporations are making contributions that dwarf what most govts will be able to give.

Pfizer alone is sending 35 million.

16. What does Pfizer have to do with criticizing Chimp's inaugural speech?
I think most people, at least in Europe, recognize that Chimp and his followers are dangerous idiots, but they also recognize that they are not the entirety of the U.S.

9. I would accept cash from someone that I hated if...
the people in my country were starving and had no jobs or hopes of any without some cash inflow.

I just found something out about these World Bank loans that are made to Third World Countries. The contracts to do the "work" for which they receive the loans are usually awarded to companies like Haliburton. Therefore, Hallibuton gets up to 95% of that loan, TAX-FREE before he country gets one red dime.

18. Now, now...
don't be blaming Cheney...er, Halliburton for lining up
some backup work in Asia. They may never get around
to rebuilding Iraq, since the war won't be over for
many years to come, if ever.

How do you expect these poor multi millionaires to eke
out an existence in the meantime, without some sort of
income they can depend on?

28. Too late - that boat sailed four years ago
The world knows what a fuckwad King George the Wannabe is already. All that is left now if for real Americans to convince the world that Dim Son does not represent the rest of us. BushyBot is an idiot, he has millions of idiots just like him but there are still plenty of real Americans here fighting tooth and nail to take back our country. Wouldn't it be a hoot if we had to turn to France and Spain again (just like the founding fathers) to get help in saving us once again for an evil monarch?

29. Americans criticizing their government are protecting the US ...
Trust me -- people in other countries watch Americans protesting Bush, and know that the entire US population isn't too brainwashed or scared to speak out. It makes it a lot easier for moderates to defuse tensions by pointing out that Americans are indeed trying to fix things in their own country, and that it's wrong to take things out on people who have been misled and betrayed.

My friends overseas tell me there are places in the world where, if it weren't for that news footage, people would think that all Americans approve of Dubya. (I think that the US was a little bit too successful crafting its image as a place where the people control the government ... because some outsiders just assume that everything that the US does, even the frightening or ruinous stuff, is by the will of the American people.)

So, basically, criticizing Bush will help reverse the damage to America's reputation.
