Undecided Before IA: Now Leaning Towards...
EDWARDS! I don't dislike any of the Dem candidates and I will vote for whoever wins. I still like Gen Clark. But I have to say it is hard to not be impressed with Edwards. I like his optimism and his charisma, and he has a rep as killer debater. I like that he came from nothing rather from an elitist family.

I appreciate Dean's anti-war message and I've even given him money; heck I LIKED his anger, it's appropriate. However, he lost me last night. His whole demeanor was so weird, giggly almost silly. He looked like he was losing it. I'd still vote for him against GWB but now hoping he doesn't win the primary, cuz if he freaks ME out...heck I agree with him on most things, I can't imagine what a less liberal person than me would think of him!

1. Good luck!
I'm Clark; then Edwards/Kerry, one or the other.

2. Edwards is Kennedy
For those of us old enough to remember, his passion, charisma, optimism, and looks bring back fond memories of Camelot. He is JFK without the silver-spoon childhood and penchant for adultery.

Clark/Edwards 04

4. My 2 cents and I don't have a candidate either.
My own interpretation of Iowa last night tells me that the campaign is not only an anti-war stump speech. I like Wes Clark alot but I think he needs to expand his message if he want to succeed. I think KerryEdwards did so well because they is not only talking about the war but they are also talking jobs, middle class, medicare, corporate cronyism, special interests, the environment, etc. People are pissed at this administration for various reasons and I think they are being drawn to candidates who are touching on all those reasons.

This is not a Dean bash because I like Howard Dean alot. I will vote for whoever gets the nomination and I will do it with a good concious. I think it is time that some of the candidates start to expand their message.

5. I Love DK Too
I really think he is a bit ahead of his time, but I love him.

I appreciated Dean's anti-war stance, and that he had the guts to really lay that on the line early when everybody was tip-toeing around about it.

But what will win this election is someone who will tap into the fear that any thinking person has about the fact that nobody in this administration is looking out for the American working people. Not only the manufacturing jobs but the tech sector and even the telemarketing jobs are streaming out of the US. This affects every single one of us adversely, except the CEO's who are pocketing the change by sending the work to Bangladesh.

6. Edwards does not depend on bad news.
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 11:14 AM by leyton
I think his message will resonate either way - whether the economy turns up or turns down, whether the situation in Iraq gets better or gets worse.

EDIT: Not to diss the other candidates. I'm not trying to imply that they are dependent on bad news or anything. I'm just saying Edwards will resonate either way.

7. I agree with you
about Dean last night...he was a bit on the scary side. I will however vote for him without reservation if he's nominated. I am very impressed with Edwards, I watched a few of the town meetings in Iowa and was really struck with how sincerely he seems to relate to the people. I would enthusiastically support him. New Hampshire is going to be very interesting!
