TRUTH! wristbands
O.k. I got pissed off enough that I felt like I wanted to have something made that not only said what we stand for, but demands the TRUTH! from the rethug liars.

I'm donating a portion of the proceeds to DU. It's been my saving grace after the election. I really believe in the people that come here and I'm thankful that this exists. Keep up the good work everyone! :hi:

I'm already wearing the black "Not Me!" wristband. I think I'll add this one to it.

11. I looked into it and you
don't have to have a credit card to have a paypal account. Just a checking account. I hope that helps. Thanks for being interested in them! I hope that it has a unifying message of strength. I'm tired of being defensive, I'm ready to start fighting! Have you ever seen a Chihuahua take on a dog twice it's size? The bigger dog won't mess with it, even though it's tiny, because it believes in itself and won't back down. That's what we need. We need to be the Chihuahua. :)

12. Similar blue bands
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 07:58 AM by La Femme
I noticed two Republican associates wearing a blue band similar to yours around October before the elections. There may be confusion about what cause the wearer is supporting. Anybody looked into this yet?

14. The bands that your associates wore...
...undoubtedly were "pro life" bands. They are blue as well. With all of the causes it is difficult to know what you are looking at simply by the colors. There are also blue bands that say "true blue" or something similar. They are supposed to identify you as a progressive just as the "truth" bands do. I would love to wear a band to show solidarity with my fellow progressives but which one? What are the not me bands?

16. I'm not really concerned about those
because for one the Bono band is in aqua blue completely unrelated. The other bands that that church group got at the end they said they had some bands in red for Republican and others in Blue for Kerry.
There are also some black bracelets out there that say Anarchy and a black one that has a pink ribbon on it for breast cancer.

I tried to come as close to Democratic Blue as I could get and so far I have had excellent feedback from people when they see me wearing it. They immediately know what it's for and don't argue with supporting or demanding truth!

Plus, I don't want to be the "defensive" political party. I don't want to say, Oh well, there are more people in poverty than ever before, we're at war for no reason and the government has gone down the drain but I didn't do it. Yuck.
I want to be the party that takes ownership, that fights for what's right, that stands for something, that makes progress. I wish as a whole we could all get on the same page of having an offense instead of backing into a corner and being defensive.... that's not about my bracelets or whether someone buys mine or that guys...it's about the kind of world I want to live in.

I think if we view these as strength and make them stand for Democracy they will take on a life of their own. We stand for some really great things, we need to be proud of that and fight for it!
