Catholic Democratic Figureheads still under attack by canon lawyers
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 08:48 PM by CatholicEdHead
The threat of excommunication is being applied towards many Democratic figureheads, mostly Senators.

The DeFide right wing Catholic Canon law group still intends to have Senators Edward Kennedy, John Kerry, Thomas Harkin, Susan Collins, and Mr. Mario Cuomo excommunicated for Heresy and other perceived rule breaking. This battle is not over for them even though the election is over.

Expect another big announcement January 24, 2004 with more on this.

31 DECEMBER 2004 UPDATE:

The Denunciations for Heresy and other crimes against Canon Law have been filed against Senators Edward Kennedy, John Kerry, Thomas Harkin, Susan Collins, and Mr. Mario Cuomo.

All of the Briefs of Denunciation and Complaints for Reparation of Harm are in the process of being expanded, bifurcated, and translated into Latin to conform to the utmost with the exact letter of the law contained in the Church's official doctrinal and juridical documents.

Those who have not already are asked to fill in the contact form below in order to be notified by e-mail as to when they will be ready.

A Press Release and/or Conference detailing the next steps to be taken by the faithful and all concerned is scheduled for 24 January 2004, in Washington D.C..

Thank you very much for your continued prayers and support.

The judging continues by this faction of the Catholic Church where rules mean more than spirituality.

2. What a bunch of bullshit !
Are we going to have a burning at the stake ala Joan of Arc ? The best tactic is to ridicule these idiots. And I am not Catholic bashing. Been one all of my life.

5. What about George Pataki? Ah-nuld?
They're both pro-choice. Did THEY go to Church and keep the Sabbath? Did THEY recieve Holy Communion? If they recieved the sacrement while breaking the same canon laws, why aren't THEY included as well?

Interesting to say the least...

6. A faction or a few loose screws?
As a Catholic, I just sent them an email about fostering hatred. I'm probably now on their mailing list, but Catholicism was supposed to have gotten over our persecution past.

7. Based on your post alone, alcuno,
I hereby nominate you to replace John Paul II.

Your voice offers clarity and compassion and this radical right wing group is just dishing out exclusion.

Thanks for your post.

8. That's very nice of you, Old Crusoe. Thank you.
I'm actually quite a fan of the Holy Father. It's probably because I'm Polish and believe that he was an integral factor in the downfall of communism in that part of the world. I don't agree with John Paul II on a lot of things, but I also don't believe that he is anything but saddened by Catholics turning on one another.

9. Probably so, yes.
My quarrel is less with him than with the overall manipulation of religious texts to justify hateful behaviors.

His principled stand against tyranny in Europe and Russia etc. really is the centerpiece of his legacy.

13. Ack! I just got a horrible reply from that website.
According the the resident nut answering emails, I'm not a Catholic. My sainted grandmother would box his ears if she was still alive.

15. Already sent a reply.
I was taken to task on the issue of abortion even though I never mentioned it. Just said I didn't like the angry divisiveness that they were promoting. Would never say that another Catholic is not a Catholic. Apparently there is a lone loon working the keyboard tonight.

16. It could be.
More frighteningly, it could be the entire faction you feared earlier.

The ultra-conservative wing of many world faiths is a dangerous force. They are clandestine and debasing, anti-intellectual, and not known for their kind-heartedness and inclusional ways.

To steal a line from film critic David Edelstein, I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot cross.
