From The Progressive:
An excerpt from the Reverend Jerry Falwell's pre-Thanksgiving televised sermon:
"I thank God now in the twenty-first century for talk radio, that three hours a day people like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and hundreds of others are telling the truth of what really is going on. I thank God for Fox News Channel. I thank God for the Internet bloggers and the news producers like NewsMax.com, WorldNetDaily.com, even The Drudge Report."
What the hell happened to Whos looking out for you. Must have pissed Jerry off.

8. God didn't strike Falwell stupid. |
|
That would have been a sudden event. He has been stupid for a long time.

5. I'm still trying to figure this out. |
|
Yes, thank god for Faux, Drudge, et al. How else would we indoctrinate America's youth with vile GOP propaganda.
I still can't really figure out about these Christian fundamentalists.
Have they not heard of the Ten Commandments that they supposedly want to champion in America's courts? Do they not know the ones that tell us "Thou shall not lie" and "Thou shall not kill"?
If so, they how can they actually support the * administration that launched a war of agression against innocent civilians that directly led to thousands of American deaths and tens of thousands of Iraqi/Afghani civilians (not to mention indirectly causing 9/11)? How can they be for capital punishment?
Argh, the hypocrisy of it all!

7. I've often wondered how to drive a wedge between religious... |
|
...dominionist nutcases and secular neoconservatives. My two closest family members represent this marriage of convenience. My brother is an atheistic Ayn Rand Objectivist. My mother is a religiously insane Christian fundamentalist?
I've wondered if I could drive a wedge between the two sort of as a test for the world, but I don't think I have it in me to behave that way.

9. I don't know how you can navigate all those sets of mental furniture. |
|
I am a liberal Christian, and honestly, its easier for me to relate to agnostics and atheists than some of these Christian nutcases, who really don't know how manipulated they are!

I finally got fed up with all the bullshit and cut off the relationship. There were lots of reasons I did so.

10. There is one bible story that might do it. |
|
The one about being your brother's keeper. Religious folks instinctively feel they should care for the needy. Ayn Randers, er, don't.
