"Tomorrow, members of Congress will meet to certify the results of the 2004 presidential election. I will not be taking part in a formal protest of the Ohio Electors.
Despite widespread reports of irregularities, questionable practices by some election officials and instances of lawful voters being denied the right to vote, our legal teams on the ground have found no evidence that would change the outcome of the election.
But, that does not mean we should abandon our commitment to addressing those problems that happened in Ohio. We must act today to make sure they never happen again." -- e-mail from John Kerry.
Hypoctite. We're better off waiting another four years for someone with a spine.
Note to John Kerry: Thinking of running again in 2008? Don't bother.

13. Generator, I don't agree with the main post but spirits are high, |
|
a bit too much energy. I think there is a real fighting spirit building here around the issue of VOTING RIGHTS. It's not Kerry's vote, it is the process of all of us voting. That's worth fighting for and if the process of whipping that issue up gets some people overboard, that's expected. I don't see occasional auto-cannibalism as the real thrust of behavior.

RetroLounge, let's wait and see what tomorrow brings, I think that Kerry was wise to stay out of this, you saw how it was before the election, the polls say this, the polls say that, we have become just numbers to be analyzed, since this has become a movement of the people, no elected official is going to forget their fax machine going crazy or their phone ringing off the wall. Hello, please answer, it's We the People calling and we're pissed, Nobody is going to write off the power of the American voter again to serve his own ends. I think that if Kerry does get it in 2004, it will be by the American People yanking open the door of White House and fumigating it. Also, I think that this vote scamming is going to stop, no politician is going to want to go through this again.

And I don't mind that I may be drafted and that SS will be totally messed up, because hey, tax cuts for all. Screw the environment! We're better off with Bush because he's got a spine and Kerry is weiney. I mean really where was Kerry while Bush was in the air national gaurd...oh wait...Kerry is still a spineless loser.

11. Third parties never have and |
|
never will become viable majority parties in this country, for many varied reasons which I won't bore anyone here by listing. We're better off staying in the party and working from within to change it. That's the only thing that's going to save us.
And as for being glad Kerry lost-I'm as disgusted as you are with his spinelessness despite all of the evidence he lists in his email that election fraud exists in Ohio. But he still would be infinitely preferable to the Chimp-in-Chief, in every way and every policy area you can think of.

10. There has always been election fraud, and always will be |
|
That is the nature of human-designed entitites.
Did Nixon win in 1960? Maybe it is possible, but not probable.
I think Kerry lost this one because he didn't fight well enough before election day, not after.
It should not have been close enough for human imperfections to be an issue.
That said, I believe election reform must take center-stage in the coming months and years. Even with the understanding that perfection is impossible, we must work to make the system better and more verifiable.

lost and we have to go through another four years of who knows what bad stuff. There is no way to come close to comparing Kerry and *. I would, however, not vote for him again if there was a choice, I would work actively for him to not get the dem nomination. He should be fighting for the vote whether or not it means that he would get innaugurated on the 20th. Not fighting says everything is ok or just needs minor fixing. Not fighting is not keeping his word.

it's called a primary. You had just as much vote in it (if you were a party memeber) as anyone else. As to the party not fighting back, I certainly agree they could and should do more but so could you (and all of us).

I don't' think Kerry lost...IF all were honestly counted then Kerry would win.But Kerry and King George Bush the second{KGB II} cut this deal in a secret society called skull and bones in a coffin in 1968 in new haven ct.Kerry is cousin of KGB and could care less about the "commoners" I respect Kerry for his VN record and for speaking out in 1971. he is still a blue blood and will not change his blood type in any election. read : 'American dynasty"-Kevin Phillips "Secrets of Tomb"-Alexandra Robbins 'Price of loyalty' about Paul O'Neil and Mark C. Millers new book "Unusual Punishment" bush/cheney new world order family bush remains ALWAYS near the crime scene but NEVER indicted

Kerry as the face of this all, at the moment, and he would be if he were "officaly" involved, would be a media circus.
This is more than about Kerry. He's not really the bottom line here.
I think he knows that. He sees a bigger picture, I believe. A contingent step or two ahead.
What motivation would Kerry have for being in Iraq now?
I can think of some good reasons.
I'd happily vote for Kerry in '08.
I couldn't be prouder of his campaign either. He stayed above. He played fair. And I believe he won. Big.
bla bla bla, sorry, rambling
Don't condemn Kerry, trust him. For now, anyway.
I've really come to admire the man.
