2. I wonder how many times in his life...
... that Gonzales has said, "I PROMISE! I PROMISE! I won't come in your mouth!"

If this guy gets confirmed, I'm gonna ask a bunch of Senators about a bridge in Brooklyn I have for sale....

4. Questions Gonzales should be answering
In an article on its website entitled Something to Hide?, the American Progress Action Fund states:
"President Bush is asking the United States Senate to confirm his nominee to be attorney general, Alberto Gonzales, without all the facts. On the eve of the Gonzales confirmation hearing, despite repeated requests from senators, the White House still refuses "to provide copies of his memos on the questioning of terror suspects." Instead, the Senate will be forced to rely (my emphasis) on "press reports or leaks" for information about his role in drafting legal memorandum that provided legal justifications for torture."
If the White House and Gonzales refuse to be forthcoming with the appropriate background information, his nomination should simply not be confirmed. To say later that they confirmed him because they had no information to the contrary won't get it. If Chimp and his nominee won't comply, then let the Senate ask Gonzales the Ten Questions proposed by APAF.
