6. He was MSNBC's news manager -- or some sort of manager-- and

used to do a news commentary sort of show right before Donahue. He was a big fat guy with a really dound face, bald, smoked big cigars (shown in promo photos; he didn't smoke on the air.) Old time news guy image.

After his cancer was diagnosed (or recurred???), his show had subs for a while -- and then I quit watching Donahue and MSNBC.

Nachtman was kind of cool and it was sad to hear he had cancer. I knew it must be bad and occasionally have remembered him, wondered how he was doing.

Sorry to hear he didn't make it. :-(

i liked him alot. he had a mikey spillane thing going on but it came off as OK, some how.

11. I shared a post or reply here back in around September....

he looked ill. I asked if he had a physical exam or had he been diagnosed with cancer. He had obviously lost weight, color was pasty, looked sullen for a "heavy" man.

Oh whooo....did I call that or what?

12. Wow...
That IS sad, but he was just a terrible journalist...he edited Rupert Murdoch's NY Post, then went to WCBS-TV in NYC where he managed to miss both the storm of the century (there was more than a foot of snow on the ground before the station broadcast an alert) and Princess Diana's death (rumor had it that CBS chairman Larry Tisch got out of bed in the middle of the night and stormed into the newsroom to find out why every other channel had coverage but not his local affiliate).
