A bad day for Republicans
The Republican members of the Judiciary committee
contorting themselves to embrace the use of torture
and dismissing the proof of election fraud, obstruction
to voting, vote padding and votes thrown out as
trivial and a waste of time mark a particularly bad day for Republicans.

What do they stand for anyway?

12. It was asked by another poster in a different thread but never answered
What on earth is "facism," anyway? Is it a new form of discrimination like "lookism?"

13. definition of fascism
1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control <early instances of army fascism and brutality -- J. W. Aldridge>

or Bushista control of four branches of government
with little oversight, few checks and balances and
disregard for the law unless it works for their goals.

24. actually, that IS what you asked (?)
you asked "what on earth is fascism?" and someone gave you a definition. Then you claimed you didn't ask for a definition.

Perhaps you're confused, or I am.

33. oh, its horrible...just horrible....
because assholes keep telling you to get a thicker skin, instead of taking ownership of their own irritating behavior. Somehow, they expect me to get a thicker skin so they can continue irritating me more intensely, as if that's a goal I ascribe to .

weird, huh?

but thanks for your concern.

5. Use the Republican's statements
You still have a phone, fax, e-mail.
Make sure your local paper covers it
and if they don't... quote what Republicans
said about votes and election irregularities

6. We have to begin work on a REAL underground.
Because the US is now a truly fascist state. One party rule without even the trappings of multiple participation. The oppression will begin in real earnest now; we need to be prepared for it...

8. Make them notice
write letters to the editor, call in radio
stations, c-span etc. Call the Congresspeople
who participated in this exercise in democracy
today...on the side of right and the side of
wrong. Let them know you are on the side of
allowing all registered voters to vote in a timely
manner, without obstruction and a guarantee they
are voting on the best equipment with a backup
paper trail that can be recounted.

9. Good day for them.
Lying and getting away with it is a good day for republicans.

It's like saying it's a bad day for the bank robber if he gets clean away with a million bucks.

Tampering with votes and getting away with it is a good day.

Going through the motions of asking tough questions of Bush's personal attorney so that he can become attorney general (who is supposed to work for us) is a good day for republicans.

16. Lets keep the light shining on them.

We know so much here, but we could share it better with the rest of the country.

I really want to encourage people to also visit some mixed message boards in addition to the liberal ones and keep bringing up the injustice.

These could be political or even a board about your interests. To share with others and to watch out for attempts to hijack such boards by the lying right wingers that often infiltrate them.

In my main set of mixed political boards we use even the times that MSM (aka corporate news media) hide the facts by covering them with other news to insert reality.

It really is even fun sometimes and very satisfying knowing that we are getting the real news to people.

administration on Gitmo and torture. Someone
should have Dean of Yale Law School Koh on

18. Yeah.
I watched some of the challenge proceedings. I saw a group of white people hurling insults and condemnation, slamming the door in the faces of a group made up largely of black people standing up for their civil rights. It reminded me of the 1960s civil rights clashes in the South.
