Democracy can't be forced onto any nation; Not Iraq...and not AMERICA.
30% of the total number of eligible voters in this country voted for bush.

The MAJORITY of Americans eligible to vote didn't bother to vote at all.

America's "democracy" is a SHAM.

Democracy isn't something that once you have it you always have it; it's VERY EASY to lose, and like love it needs constant care and attention. Without that constant care and attention, democracy dies. It's that simple and it always has been that simple.

The MAJORITY of Americans made their choice; they don't care about democracy. They may change their minds about that damn quick once all remaining shreds of democracy in this country are gone.

Before Hitler, Germany was a robust democracy. Until they started caring more for "party uber alles" than they did for democracy.

1. ....

My ancestors came here when it was just a few backwater colonies owned by England. My family has been through the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, all of them. All of the growing pains of America.

I hope to God in my daughter's lifetime she doesn't see the death of it.

(But I fear for that.)

2. Your post says it all.
Think about it. We survived a civil war, which was a far worse crisis than we are in now. We will overcome this temporary era of insanity.

3. Democracy cannot be forced onto a nation
Very true!
Maybe the US of A has to go through what other nations had to go through to become a true democracy.
France had to storm the bastille, survived the german occupation and many other trials and errors to become a great nation. They helped us,the first time,to become a strong nation.

If it takes * for us to become a true democracy, then so be it.
Prepare yourselves! Organize!
